Orange Retention Offers

Theres no problem ringing back to tell them that after careful consideration you are now happy to take the offer that they wanted to give you. I always try to be realistic in what I deem as value, yes some may seem to get a bit of a better deal thats the way it goes. The deal you have been offered works out at an average of £20 for the 18mth term with a £300 phone thrown in this is near enough £17 over 18 mths if you had to pay for it. So for £3 a month you are getting 600 mins and unlimited texts. This is how work out my value when deciding to take a contract.0

I had a contract with TMO(got 4 of 5 cashbacks) which came to an end in February.
I was paying £40PCM for 300 mins & 100 texts, to cut a long story short i asked the retentions dept for a SIM only deal and the best they could offer was £15PCM for 400 mins & 100 texts, i then asked what if i wanted a phone too and to my delight i was able to choose from a selection of phones.0 -
Are you sure they have a customer retention team? I just called them, and you could have fooled me!
I've had a £30 contract for 18 months and no attempt whatsoever was made to keep me.... maybe I shouldn't have sounded off about their naff customer service.
Out of interest, Has anyone noticed that sometimes (not always) when you respond to an email from Orange customer services your reply fails to be delivered... the bounce address is hagrid.orange.co.uk..... Whats up guys, is this what you switch on when your work load to big to be allowed?
Magic...My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

i just phoned up and selected the option to disconnect - asked for my pac code and they asked why. i said i suspected i could get cheaper elsewhere..
without really trying i got a free htc tytn2 (wanted it for work, rrp is about £400) and a £5 discount on line rental, with the option of racoon 30 for £25 or racoon 35 for £30.
i was happy to go with it as it saves me the effort of cashback!0 -
Darn! I wish I knew where I went wrong. I was offered a choice of any phone and that was it. I'd have been really pleased with Racoon 35 for £30My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

my contract is due to run out in may, i have been on 18month contract, dolphin and pay £35 a month for 500mins free and 500 txts free.
I was told by a customer service advisor that I could upgrade in febuary as a valued customer but when i went to the orange shop I was told i couldnt. I would have to pay i thinkit was £100 or just over to come out of my contract period and restart a new one??? Its not worth me paying that as I cannot afford it. And it was the same if i wanted to leave , I would have to pay so much to cover the costs ect. I am happy with orange but I have noticed other deals and just want the best deal thats going.0 -
My 12 month free, 12 month OSPS contract finishes in April, I am also on the free broadband, so would prefer to stay with Orange, but there does not seem to be any decent cashback deals on Orange at the moment!0

Hi,
I have just spoken with the Orange retensions dept, who have informed me that my current contract expires in April.
The best offer available to me was a free SE K850i and a £5 discount on the monthly cost for 9 months.
I am currently on the Canary 30 tariff. The very helpful chap on the phone suggested that I should wait until my contract expires, as my loyalty bonus will be maximised and better offers will be available....
Is this correct, and will it make much difference?
Cheers:j No longer lurking :j0 -
My partner had a really good deal 18 months ago, loads of minutes and texts and broadband.
Just before the 18mnth period was up Orange bombarded us with calls asking us to stay with them (though now they insist that they only called once and that other people must be ringing pretending to be them!)
In the end, because the original deal was so good my partner decided to stay with them and also got a new phone.
But now 2 months later we have a bill for £70 instead of the usual £35, because apparently the original calls/text package was only valid for the first 18months.
And even though we signed up for another 18 months the package does not renew.
To stay on this package we now have to pay an additional £5.
Would it have killed Orange to offer just a small amount of customer service and inform us of this on the last bill?
Did the irritating idiot on the other end of the phone have to be so smug?
We are of course tied into the contract for the next 16 months, but after that is bye bye Orange, and in the mean time we shall warn people of this problem.
It does seem to me that PAYG packages are the best way forward, O2 have some amazing deals which I myself have. My package cost £20 a month but would cost a lot more with other networks.0 -

Just had pretty much the same conversation with a guy called Roy - also very helpful.
Was offered the Nokia 6500 on Dolphin 35, 18 month contract, for £25pm as an example of what could be done. It was suggested nearer the time though that I ring again for a better deal.0
