MY 18 month contract is up in a couple of weeks. When I am out of contract do I still have to give 30 days notice?

Yes, so give notice asap, otherwise contract will just continue.

    Hi there,

I've been on the phone to Orange tonight and was offered:

HTC Hero graphite, £50.00 for handset

£20.00 a month (which includes my son's mobile at a cost of £5.00)
    400 minutes cross network
    unlimited landlines
    unlimited texts

This is a 24-month contract, though.. Can I ask what you mean by "loyalty minutes".

    Thanks!

You can't get unlimited landlines and unlimited texts, it's one or the other. So some mistake there!

    Hi,

The guy originally said I could either have unlimited landlines or unlimited texts and then went on to say, actually we could throw in unlimited texts for that, too.

    What do you think?

    Thanks

I work for them. They can't do it. You either go on Racoon (Landlines) or Dolphin (Texts), you can't get both unfortunately!

I have been with Orange for about 5 years, on payg and for the last couple of years on sim only.
Phoned up yesterday and asked for PAC code (as didn't mind moving network) and then negotiated:
HTC Hero (with one off payment of £27.99)
    800 mins
    ultd text
    80mb internet

for £20/m for 24months (not too keen on the length but it did make the monthly amount a lot lower). Not too bad but not sure about the 80mb. Will probs mainly use for email so should be okay as can always use the wireless network to download apps etc. Main thing is that it is only £5 more than I pay atm but I get so much more for that money.

Got the following deal from retentions yesterday:
    Free HTC Hero Graphite
    Panther 45 1200 x-net mins
    1000 loyalty x-net mins
    Unlimited landlinea
    500MB internet
    £25 per month.
  • akash how did u manage dat. I were offerd the bb 9700 1200 anytime mins, unlim txt and 80mb net and mms for £25.

I askd if could get the 500 mb bt said thats all. How did u manage to get the extra loyalty mins.

My ave bill with orange has been around £45.

Luc grl i was wondering would i be able to get a better deal frm them? Any chance
  • So in order to get one of these better deals, one must threaten to leave Orange / request the PAC code?

I've had a crappy phone for years and I would now like something better, ideally an HTC H2 or BlackBerry Storm 2. Unfortunately these aren't on Orange I would really rather not leave. As such I'm settling on the BlackBerry Bold 9700, but the deals online aren't great for me.

Do you think if I phone up and ask nicely they will sort me out a nice £20-£25 Panther deal? I've been with Orange all my (phone using) life so I guess around 8 years. Just not sure if this will count for anything or if I should just say they don't have the phones I want, please can I have my PAC code and then see what they offer me.

Advice would be much appreciated! (1st post after much lurking!! :j)
