Orange Retention Offers

Hey guys, just a quick question to anyone who has the Iphone or HTC Hero, or a simliar phone. I've been offered the 80MB data bundle from orange for an upgrade. My mins, texts etc are all fine, I'm just not sure about this 80MB. Roughly how much data do you guys use, those of you who have a data package. And roughly what kind of daily things does this include? Cheers!0

I don't think 80mb would be enough for a smartphone, I'd push for a 500mb bundle and if they aint willing to do that haggle for 250mb0
-
Just haggle with them.
I upgraded mine yesterday. They originally offered me 80mb package, but i haggled for unlimited and somehow they eventually accepted my request.
So now I upgraded from
Nokia 6500s
300min
100 texts
unlimited landline calls £13 a month
TO
Blackberry 8520 Curve
300min
600 texts
unlimited landline calls
unlimited internet and email £22 a month
So im altogether very pleased with what I got. I was getting annoyed with only getting 100 texts a month, so just asked if I could have anymore and they just added another 500 texts to it. Fantastic! Blackberry is coming tomorrow and then I will be all set!0 -
Hey, cheers for the reply. I've been trying to push for 500MB, but apparently I don't have enough loyalty points, according to retentions. The only way to get it is to pay £120 for the handset apparently. Retentions have told me they dont do 'in between' data bundles any longer. Apparently it's now 80MB out or courtesy, or buy the 500MB..Anyone else got any opinions about the 80MB bundles? Thanks a lot.0

I'm quite a heavy data user due to demoing my smartphone at work, and got through over 300MB last month.Hope that helps,

Been on a £35 month contract which got me the original tocco, contract is up soon so after talking to Orange I got:
1000mins per month x network
unlimited texts
ulimited mobile internet
6 months free insurance
and a Samsung Omnia HD which I unlocked and debranded and just sold on ebay for £270
the total deal £14.87 a month, bargain I reckon!0 -
Hi, first time post,
I have two phones with Orange and have been with them for years the deal I have now is
2 x Samsung Omnia
225 mins on both
100 texts on both
on Racoon 25
at £25 a month for both, I also have Orange care for both for another £12.00
I have asked for 2 x Satios and they then offered me one free and the other for £146
600 mins
500 texts
all at £50 per month
I also wanted some internet use and one of the phone calls resulted in 500mb free but when I rang back later a woman called Sue said they no longer do the internet on plans under £35 or 18 and 24 month contracts.
What I wanted was the same mins and texts with some internet and 2 free phones. My bills have been quite high in the past as my husband works abroad so I thought I would have good loyalty benefits. The lady told me basically if I can get the deal cheaper elsewhere I should go then. I have until March to find a better deal.
I just never seem to have any luck , any advise welcome.

I've been thinking of upgrading to the iphone for some time now and have been with Orange for as long as I can remember, at least 8 years I reckon. My current contract is due to expire in May 10, and I can upgrade in Feb 10.
What are the chances of Orange allowing me to upgrade sooner to the iphone? Has anyone managed to upgrade whilst still under the initial contract phase? Any suggestions like saying I'm thinking of moving to another iphone provider once my contract is up?
I would give them a bell but I'm just sounding out the idea first.
None without you buying out of your contract or waiting until February.0 -

The 500mb free internet we can't offer without it either being included within one of the higher value talkplans or charging £5 per month for it. We can sometimes offer 80mb goodwill internet as part of the upgrade.
The way things are going you'd be waiting until March anyway for a Satio, everytime they come in they fail software testing. Latest is 6,000 of them have been sent back to Sony Ericsson. Choose a different phone and you may be able to get the internet discounted with a £5 credit each month so the phone becomes free.0 -
Does anyone know when/if the SE X10 is coming to Orange?0
