My contract is due to expire soon. Are you guys just calling up to renew/upgrade, or are you going through the whole "I want to leave Orange" rigmarole?0
-
Just going through the renew stage...then asking to go to retentions as the first offer isnt good enough..0
-
Just been through to retentions and this is what I was offered ..
500 mins
100 texts
Free phone HTC Touch or SPV E650 or Sony Ericsson K810i
for £20 a month
Downside 18 mth contract
Said I will check out the phones on-line and call back. Will call back and try to get this on a 12 mth contract.
Not sure which phone though..... and I want some web access.

Very good offer!!!
I'm not sure I want an 18 mth contract so I am going to see what the offer is for a 12 mth one.
Looks like you can bargain hard on an 18mth contract. Should be fun..
My own Orange contract expires in Jan 2008, 14 1/2 months free on an 18 month contract through BMP.net.
Contract was £30 per month for 18 months = £540
Cashback @ 14 .5 months = £435
Sold mobile = £120
Quidco = £30
So I will make a profit of £45 if the cashback goes ok till the end of the contract.
If Orange offer me a decent retention offer then I will probably stay with them or I may move to O2 on cashback offer through e2save!"He's a maniac, maniac that's for sure,

I was offered the following this morning
500 xnet mins 100 txts with Free Sony Ericsson K810i on 18mth contract for £20 a month
Rang back to see if a could get this on 12 months and said it would be £25 instead still with free phone.
Ask if they could through in any data bundles but answer was 'NO'.
Tried to get them to reduce the £20 to £15 if I agreed to 18 months but still would not budge.
Looks like I am stumped...
Anyone got any suggestions apart from take the offer and run?

Just upgraded and gone for the Nokia 6300 phone
700 mins anytime
100 txts
unlimited landline mins (anytime, max 3000)
1 Magic Number
18 month contract
£15 a month incl VAT
thanks for the info Athletic81, got the same deal as you but 100 less texts, seems like they have set deals they offer you, no room for negotiation you have to take it or leave it, had to go through retentions the upgrade team could not offer me anything as I'd spoken to Retentions earlier, the CS person was offering me similar to above with 350 texts for £25.00 pm, so I had to give her all the details and she looked it up and then gave me what I wanted, the only thing is that it will have to start from my next billing date over two weeks away.
Phone should be delivered tomorrow, with new sim and I am able to port number in, the phone I've been told will be Orange branded, they don't do generic handsets for the 6300.Nearly debt free
