Currently on dolphin35 for £29 a month , ideallly would like to be down at £20 , minutes arnt really an issue for me but would like a data package in the price though . Handset wise would love the new samsung but dont think that would be realistic so would settle for a free LG arena as was quoted £130 in the highstreet store . Thanks for any advice
Alright, you can probably find something workable with that. For a start the Omnia HD would be an unrealistic handset if you're wanting to bring the price down. If the price and data package is the most important thing for you then start with that. 80MB of data is more or less a freebie add on, or so it seems. So ask them to bring the price down to £20 (this should be possible), but make it clear that you don't need as many minutes as you have now, in case that frees up some more credit for you. After you have the tariff down to £20, then talk about phones. I'm not entirely sure where the LG Arena stands in terms of level for phones, but it is fairly recent. I think if there is one area that you'll have to compromise it will be on the phone. But see what is offered to you. And remember, don't be afraid to say no and phone them back later to speak to someone else.

The manufactures warranty covers the handset for first 12 months, and the battery for 6 months, which is fine except it will only cover faulty and even then, after the six months you may have to send the handset directly to the manufacturer at your own cost to get it replaced.
The Orange Care (Insurance) covers all the rest - Lost, Stolen, Damaged. These aren't covered with a manufacturer so it's ALWAYS advisable to get insurance, wether with your mobile provider, or sometimes comes free with certain bank accounts.
Though not sure what their t'c & c's are.

:T just been offered a brilliant deal

    LG cookie
    400 minutes
    unlimited texts
    unlimited internet
    all for.... £9.79/month!

    alternative was

    Nokia 5800
    400 minutes
    unlimited texts
    unlimited internet
    £15/month

i took the LG one purely for its cheapness.

i forgot to ask the man, if i need to use more minutes, would i be able to get 600 minutes without losing all my benefits?

Highly unlikely. But then again you're paying £10 a month, so going a few quid over here or there won't break the bank balance. Cracking deal that- on a comparable level to the one that I got a month ago (700 minutes, 300 texts, unlimited landline calls, Samsung G600, £9.79 a month). Just goes to show what you can get if you deal with things the right way.

last month i phoned them and was offered a fairly good offer, as above for £15/month but with the nokia 6220 or 6500 slide. I asked for a call back and a note, and he called back today with even better deals!

What kind of deal should I be looking at for a Blackberry Curve on Racoon 35 (+Web bolt on).
Have been with them for several years. For new customers it would be £34.56pm

    Cheers :)
Depends entirely on how much you are spending now. What tariff are you on, and what is your monthly spend? Blackberry deals are always trickier. The same standards do not apply.

Also, this is only a minor point, but Orange do not have a 'web bolt on' per se. That's O2 terminology. It's just 'unlimited internet' ;)

It is for a friend of mine, so not too sure. I know she has been with them for around 5 years spending on average £30pm. She has been offered racoon with internet for £31pm. Seeing as it is £34.56 for new customers, I would have thought the deal is pretty rubbish?

Finally agreed on my deal with Orange.

    400 minutes
    unlimited texts
80mb free data allowance (for web browsing)
    Sony Ericsson C902
  • Hi, im going to have been with orange for 36 months come 7th august. And i've kinda got set on blackberry curve.. i know it might be alittle early to upgrade, should i wait till nearer the time?
Anyway i'm currently on £20 with the horrible k850, get 300 minutes, 400 txt, unlimited off peak txt. Low minutes haven't been to much of a problem cause many of my friends have been on orange and been magic numbers.
My average spend over the last 12 months is £28 (not including emergancy insurance of £70 a few months back [Wasn't sure if they would take this into account])

    I know what im after
    Blackberry curve, free
    More minutes 500 possibly.
Same txt plan, or otherwise 800
    Blackberry data plan.

What kinda price do you think i could manage for that!? i would prolly be happy with 30. would probably like unlimited txt with that though, and maybe free insurance (is it easy to get this thrown in?)

Best blackberry deal that suits me on other networks in o2 £34, 600minutes, 1000 txt, blackberry data blot on.

I am about to start my gap year so will go travelling, o2 has the world roaming blot on that looks like it could be worth it. As long as i can add it on when i go away, and take it off when im back. I don't think orange offers anything similar though?

Just wondered if theres any other options available or if you think i could get a better deal?!

    Thank in advance!

    Hi there!
My contract runs out on the 19th of June, I've been with orange for about 3 years on Dolphin 25, although a few months ago I changed down to Dolphin 30.
I also pay £6 a month for orange insurance at the moment.

I'm currently getting 400 mins and unlimited texts.

I quite like the look of the Nokia 5800 and was wondering what people would think is a good deal to bargain for?

    Ideally i'd like
    400-500 anytime mins
    unlimited text
Some sort of internet deal (I don't know how much, this is the first phone where i'll actually use the internet on it)

Do you think there's a possibility of haggling with them to get my insurance thrown in for free?
Also when is the best time to call up retentions? Is it better to call when I have a month left till the end of my contract, or 2 weeks?
And as far as i've read people seem to suggest calling around 6pm or after helps?
    Cheers for any advice!
