gilly_dc, what is your average monthly spend? This will help to determine what kind of offer you may get.

I was offered the 5800 for £25 per month with a stupid amount of minutes (plus free texts and internet), they would not offer me anything for less than £25. In the end I chose a different phone (I don't really need a 5800!), with the same deal detailed by Devo above.
    Gone ... or have I?

Used to be around £42 a month (including paying £6 insurance) but I changed down a bracket to Dolphin 30 a few months ago so it's come down to about £36 a month.

What does everyone think of this deal - Racoon 30 with £5 off at the moment( supposedly extra 10% loyalty too, but that vanished 6 months ago?!) been a customer 4 years+ . They are offering the same Nokia 6300 that I had 18 mths ago! or LG Etna on Racoon 30 - unlimited landline, 400 mins and 300 texts for £14.69 or HTC Touch 3G £74 one off.

When do you think would be best to ring back to negotiate the Touch for free as is shown on their website with the Racoon 30?

Just an update on what happened to me, rung orange, didn't go to retentions just went to upgrade phone, got offered 400 minutes, unlimited txt, Blackberry data bundle. for £26 pm, and then £97 one off for the blackberry curve 8900.

    Said no...

Later that day rang retentions, got offer the same deal but with free phone and for only £19.58.

Was shocked and went for it! kinda regret not maybe seeing about getting cheap insurance but do they ever offer a deal on insurance or throw it in for free?!

I was wondering. since my contract will really end of the 16th of June and I've rang up to give 30 days notice to cancel it.
Anyone knows whether it's worth a try to ring retention again to see whether they can give my the tocco ultra for free?
what they offered before was to pay 244pounds for the phone n pay 25pounds for racoon 35 for 18months. n the reason i wanted to cancel it is becoz new customer can get the phone for free n it's 29pounds for 18months.

I've been an orange customer for a year with a £35 contract (although a couple of bills up to the £50 mark :S) on a cashback deal through e2save which is about to run out so I was going to swap for another. Yesterday I called to cancel and got offered an ok-ish deal on a nokia 5800 but went ahead with a cancellation, but then changed my mind and called back later. Ended up with the 5800 for free, 400 minutes, 300 texts, unlimited landline calls and unlimited data for £9.79 a month on an 18 month tariff. Didn't really want to go for 18 months, but I couldn't really argue with that deal!

    Hi there!
My contract runs out on the 19th of June, I've been with orange for about 3 years on Dolphin 35, although a few months ago I changed down to Dolphin 30.
I also pay £6 a month for orange insurance at the moment.

I'm currently getting 400 mins and unlimited texts.

I quite like the look of the Nokia 5800 and was wondering what people would think is a good deal to bargain for?

    Ideally i'd like
    400-500 anytime mins
    unlimited text
Some sort of internet deal (I don't know how much, this is the first phone where i'll actually use the internet on it)

Do you think there's a possibility of haggling with them to get my insurance thrown in for free?
Also when is the best time to call up retentions? Is it better to call when I have a month left till the end of my contract, or 2 weeks?
And as far as i've read people seem to suggest calling around 6pm or after helps?
    Cheers for any advice!

I called up yesterday and got offered the Nokia 5800, 400 mins, unlimited texts and 80mb web for £24.99 a month.
This is pretty much identical to getting Racoon 30 from the online store though?

Should I try and push for unlimited net and a lower price do you think? I've only got 30 days left on my contract, but my last bill isn't till later next week, maybe i'll get better offers once that bill has gone through?

Orange don't do the Tocco Ultra atm. Either they are out of stock or stopping them
