Latest offer today for us - new Samsung s5600 £15 one off with 600 Xnet minutes, 300 texts, unlimited landline, 2 magic numbers, + internet for £14.68. What do you think of this? Is the internet for the phone or home does anyone know?

Home internet is included in every 18 month contract if you choose to have it installed. You'll have to ask them whether they were talking about that or an internet allowance for your phone.

Sounds like a good deal to me though :) Definately if it includes an internet allowance.

Do you think I have more chance of bargaining them down if I say that i'm thinking of leaving Orange to get an iphone on o2?
Someone I spoke to genuinely did want to leave to get an iphone and apparently they offered him super cheap deals.

It can only be worth a go gilly. Personally I think it depends on your criteria ours was the package for the price the phone is secondary - once we have good minutes etc for a good price we are prepared to compromise on the phone. If they think you are leaving to get an iphone then they may offer you a better phone, but not such good minutes, perhaps.

Just wanted to drop in and say thanks to you all for your posts.

I am just within my cancellation period.
Called last week and asked for an upgrade - was offered Nokia 5800 for £130 plus £35 contract. Obviously said no thanks. I have not been the best customer for them 18 months ago had a Nokia N95 700 mins 100 texts for £15 a month!!!!! Monthly spend on average £20.

I saw a deal on Tmobile today:
    Nokia 5800
    800 mins
    unlimited texts
    £25

Called orange to cancel - told them I was going to Tmobile for above deal and after a minute or two they offered me the same deal as above. I asked for unlimited web but all they offered was 80mb.

Anyway the phone is being delivered on Wednesday but not sure if will keep or go to tmobile for a bit of extra quidco - but on the upside have missed a few cc payments this year so credit rating probably not good and don't want more checks than necessary.

So thanks all - I also think the new 5800 comes with music is being launched next week on orange so maybe the prices for the standard will go down more.

I called up yesterday and got offered the Nokia 5800, 400 mins, unlimited texts and 80mb web for £24.99 a month.
This is pretty much identical to getting Racoon 30 from the online store though?

Should I try and push for unlimited net and a lower price do you think? I've only got 30 days left on my contract, but my last bill isn't till later next week, maybe i'll get better offers once that bill has gone through?

Your average spend is a lot more than mine, yet I got offered a better deal (pretty sure it was 800 mins). I would definitely call back and speak to someone else.

Do you need more than 80mb for t'internet?
    Gone ... or have I?

Hi Crazy Jamie, I forgot to ask you what you thought about the deal I recently got through rententions?
It seemed that the guy was willing to add on more "stuff" rather than discount the line rental any further.

Just keeping my options open during the 14 day returns period.
I think it is a good deal and should do the job fingers crossed.
Lets hope the roaming charges come June get better!
Just curious about a second opinion if you don't mind.

    Best Regards,

I haven't had internet on my phone before, but i've noticed there are apps for having your podcasts downloaded straight to your phone, plus you get a years free nokia music downloads straight to your phone with the 5800, but these are subject to being charged for the data used to download them. I'll probably be browsing around on it for an hour or two a day as well. So i'm not really aware of whether 80mb will be enough or not? Just figured that if I can go for unlimited I might as well to be safe?
Also, I know this is a more general question with not such a definite answer, but am I likely to get what i'd like now (with 25 days left), or would I have better chance waiting a week or two when it's really close to the end of my contract?

I was under the impression that all 5800s were the xpress music type, and that you got the year free music downloads with all 5800s?

Nokia only released the comes with music version on Friday in UK - is £299 on nokia website, normal version £229. I don't know but did not think the express version gives free downloads.

    Ahhh damn.
I thought it came with it as standard...It seems the 5800 with the free music requires you to take out a 2 year contract...

I'm trying to debate whether it's worth it or not...As I imagine I probably won't get as good a deal if I go for the 5800 music than the regular 5800 as well.

If I was to go for the 2 year contract, would I be able to upgrade to a different phone at any point, and if so would I be able to do it without extending my contract? I have a feeling once i've had the 5800 a year I'll want to swap to the Nokia N97.
