We were both on a Dolphin35 which ended Nov08 so avg £40 with a couple in the 50's
Yeh that's like double mine. Hate spending that much on a phone bill.
I recently got the following for my girlfriend, although I had to ring back about 10 times and they made it more complicated each and every time.
Dolphin 35 (£/20 month) 18-month
600mins
Unlimited Texts
80MB Data
Magic Numbers Kept
Nokia N85 - £70.
So it effectively works out at £24/month all-in.0 -
Hi all
my canary35 expire 01/04/09, rang up retention and got (18 months contract) 200 xnet. unlimit txt for £10/month + £8.50 for samsung tocco.0 -
Just got off the phone to Orange and have successfully improved my deal.
I was previously on Raccoon 35 (700 minutes, 100 texts, unlimited landline calls) at £35 a month with a free Samsung G600 (this was 18 months ago, mind).
I have stayed on the same tariff, only I'm now paying £25 a month and have gotten a free Sony Ericsson C905 with an extra 8GB memory stick (so it has 16GB in total) and 80MB of 3G usage every month. Very happy with that."MIND IF I USE YOUR PHONE? IF WORD GETS OUT THATI'M MISSING FIVE HUNDRED GIRLS WILL KILL THEMSELVES."0 -
First time I've tried going through retentions.
Got Dolphin 15 (200 mins Unlimited texts 18m contract, £15 month) and paid £50 for Samsung M8800 Pixon. Couldn't beat that deal with any online retailers so I'm pleased.0 -
Hi I am on PAGY on Orange at the moment and want to get
HTC Touch HD for Free with
600mins
Unlimited Text's
500MB data bundle
& Keep my 3 magic numbers I have at the moment
For about £20/25 as other people have
I top up by £20 a month on PAYG at the moment pretty much
I phoned up and just got fobbed off with just prices off the website £39 he quoted and £78 for the phone whatever, told him about £20 he was like no can't do that, not possible at all
What should I do say when I first get through shall I ask to be put through to the PAYG loyalty team or what?
Any help muchly appreciated

I am a low user of mobile phone. I was paying 25 month for about 3 years and using about 10 minutes of calls, paying extra for texts. Eventually a while ago phoned and got an offer of 5 pounds a month for 75min and 200 texts and a new phone (that I didn't want.)
Yesterday got my bill for 19.57, payable on 6th April for 15 March to 14 April, Dolphin 20 on 18 month contract.
Phoned to ask and was told the special offer had expired and had now 'reverted' to full price on Dolphin 20. Was told I could have 10 pounds a month deal, but I only used 9 minutes and 2 texts last month so want to leave. Then got cut off.
Back on the phone to new person, went through the whole thing again, he denied all knowledge of a10 pound deal.
Was told
You are out of contract
Can't cancel immediately as it takes 30 days to cancel.
Can go to PAYG, but takes 28 days to get the SIM.
Can have Dolphin 15 with new contract
Must pay the 19.57 and must pay 20 pounds to unlock the phone if I want to leave.
That's the rules (so many times).
I gave up!
Any chance that I might be able to avoid paying almost 40 pounds to move, or a reasonable offer to stay? I don't want to enter into a long contract. Obviously I am not a good customer, so they want me to pay over the odds to stay, or extortionate amounts to leave.0 -
Just got these 2 deals on mine and wifeys account
1. Free Nokia 5800, 800mins,unlimited texts,500mb data 18months = £15per month
2. Free Nokia 5800, 400mins,3000 texts,500mb data 18months = £10per month
Not too bad I dont think - may sell phone on the tenner a month deal too.
Those are pretty amazing deals, how much do you think the phone is worth to sell and would you just try your luck on ebay.
Last time I upgraded and intended to sell the phone I concluded that unless it was a super desirable phone you would be unlikely to achieve a resonable price.
Just curious.
I assume thats the best data package orange offer these days?0 -
Im not entirely sure - I THINK o2 are selling it at around £200 atm(plus you have to top up by £20 if you buy). Orange do not have it on pay as you go as yet. I think it will find its way down to about £150 eventually.
I have put it on a classifieds site at work (about9000 employees so always a good place to start) for £200 (but would except 180) no takers as yet. If I cant get rid will stick it down a bit and see what happens.
You are right though - I would usually go for a top range phone which I know will sell but this one looks quite gimmiky so think I will get rid of it eventually!0 -

Oh not sure about the data thing but everyone keeps telling me thats a good part of the deal too!0 -
A little tip, they're a bit harder to get to give you unlimited internet, but they'll easily from my experience give you 80MB without so much as a word.

The 5800 XpressMusic is worth around £200, minus ebay fees etc. it's very popular at the moment so sell it now, don't even try it out just sell it. Remember it comes with an 8GB memory card so advertise it with that.

To the guy who wants an HTC Touch HD for ~£20, I was palmed off when I was trying to get another less expensive phone and used that as an example of the deals they were giving out. He lied through his teeth and said it'd only be available on a £40/month plan for free, when even online it's cheaper than that. If you don't like the attitude of the operator just say thanks for your help, ask him to note things on the account before you leave and then say goodbye and ring again.0
