Orange Retention Offers

I think it is not a good idea to accept the deal ( whatever offered) by mobile networks, these days there is a tough competition in the mobile phone market. I would rather make a proper research to get my best deal. Find best mobile phone comparison site and compare the deals offered by different network.
To compare mobile phone go to http://www.o2.co.uk/, http://www.shopcorn.co.uk/mobile/ http://www.moneysupermarket.com/MobilePhones/default.aspx , http://www.mobile-phones.co.uk/

Just got off the phone to Orange. Like above, called the 0800 number on PAC code letter.. Came away with this. Amazing offer in my eyes...
HTC Touch HD - FREE
200 min, unlimited texts + 500mb data
Free Orange Care
....
£15 Per Month!! (Take a few pence off for VAT)
Can you tell me what tarriff you were on before you accepted this offer? For the past 12 months I went on a sim only plan as I was happy with the phone.
I phoned Orange yesterday (only via 150 on my mobi) I was after the same phone, got told no matter what tarriff I was to go on, there was to be a charge for the phone!
Should I ring and ask for my PAC code then ring back and try to get a similar offer?
That deal is excellent IMO :T0 -

I was only on the dolphin 35 so nothing that high. I have 3 phones on one account, average monthly bill about £130, unsure if that's anything to do with it.
I called the 0800 retentions number. I did try the 150 a few times, got the usual.. no you can't discount HTC..
Good luck0 -
Thanks to this thread, I just got the 300min, unlimited landline, 100 texts + free phone for £10/month! Thank you MSErs, you have halved my bill0

im due for an upgrade on march 13 and am offered £10 per month with 300 mins and 100 texts. There were a few phones the guy offered me. But i have to ring back on the 13th to qualify for the offer.
I am interested in the samsung pixon but I can only get the samsung tocco free with the upgrade. I have been told thet the tocco screen freezez at times but the guy on the phone was saying that they are having problems with the pixon and that the tocco is better.
I am currently using the samsung u600 and not sure what I would like to upgrade on. Any advice please. I am not really bothered with what the phones has to offer but I would like the top of the range if i can. KNOw What i mean!!!!
Any help appreciated
Thanx0 -
March 13 is the day I can upgrade also. Currently got an HTC Touch Diamond (upgraded from a Touch Dual due to faults but they didn't make me sign a new deal and I don't like the Diamond so looking to change asap). With no signs of new HTC handsets available, unless I get a cracking offer I think I'll be going elsewhere and picking a free gift from one of the indy websites along the way.0

i am on orange's dolphin 35 contract and generally spend around £50 - £60 per month as i send a lot of texts(plus the odd call) abroad. i am on an 18month contract which ends in april. - i think its 600 mins + unlimited texts.
the orange contract renewals guys have left me 3 or 4 missed calls over the last week, so i decided to review what i was going to do when the contract ends so that i am fully prepared when i do speak to them!
have now decided that i will probably move to o2 simplicity as for £14.69 a month i can have 300 mins, 600 texts and free o2 to o2 calls (my bf is with o2). also, their international add-on for £2.99 would make my texts and calls abroad much cheaper. so all in all a better deal - except no new phone.
i would quite like a new phone as mine has seen better days, so decided to call up orange on 150 to see if they could offer me anything similar. when i called up this morning and said i was thinking of leaving, the lady said fine but your contract ends in mid-april and we require 30 days notice so call back in mid-march!!!!!
i thought considering i spend quite a bit each month i would have been offered something!!!! is it simply that ive called up too soon (despite the fact that their renewals team has been calling me this week!) - or are they just not bothered?
oh well...0 -

I think you'll probably need to wait till a month before your contract ends maybe? When you phone 150 choose the option where its "if you are thinking of leaving orange etc". Then tell them you wanna leave for 02 and the amount that you would pay with them and theyll probably give you a good deal.
I phoned orange today. I am currently on
350 mins 250 texts
£30 quid
18 month contract (ending next month)
for new customers they offer 400 mins and 500 texts for 25 quid! I phoned them up today and negotiated:
samsung soul (to be ordered in)
400 mins and 500 texts
£20 quid (5 pound cheaper than new customers)
18 month contract
I'm not 100% satisfied yet. I tried to get it for £15 with no luck. So when they text me to say the new phone is in stock I'll call them back asking for:
350 mins and 250 texts (what i have currently, that i dont even use completely)
£15
12 month contract (6 months less)
The equivalent online price for the above is like 33 quid! Here's hoping....any thoughts?0 -

basically " computer says no ", if you make a lot of calls abroad Orange does a Unique bundle for £5 ( or free for Orange broadband customers ) where you get calls to 30 countries - so get a Blackberry Unique model ( http://www.business.orange.co.uk/servlet/Satellite?c=OUKPage&pagename=Business&cid=1044135416445 ) or Nokia 6301 & call back in March when computer say YES !
If these countries below fit your usage, consider it.
Unique bundles - 1000 mins to Orange UK Mobiles, UK 01/02/03 landlines and International landlines to the following countries - Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Cyprus, Czech republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and USA ( includes USA mobiles )
Start your call over any wi-fi connection and its free out your Unique mins, continue call out of wi-fi coverage and seemless transfer to Orange network occurs & call remains coming from where you started them from - out of your Unique allowance, compared to Orange rate per minute to these landlines you save a fortune ! Anywhere wi-fi is that a Orange signal isn't you still have full mobile use - I have used it with mobile broadband, 200-250kbps is needed for Unique handsets to use wi-fi.
I start call in wi-fi and in car on speakerphone and drive off once call connected, Orange beat BT on this package compared to a BT landline £15 for minimum call package & £5 for UniqueSO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -
thanks guys... i will call back nearer the time and see what they say. in the meantime i dont think ill commit to anything if the renewals guys try to call me again.
yas89 - a 12 month contract sounds better to me!! worth a try anyway!
