I have to admit that it's a lot harder than I thought it would ever be.

I realise though that I've been saving for an oven and got the money put aside. One shop that takes the card sells ovens so I'm going to replenish my bank with the oven savings and use the card to buy that.
At least I'm not out of pocket. Then I'm going to change next years order completely. I struggle to save up and this does work for me.
I've also offered to make Christmas dinner this year for the family. The new oven voucher will come in handy because mine doesn't work properly and I'm not sure my air fryer will fit the whole turkey in 😂.
Not in my overdraft as I've moved money from the oven fund to the main account. I do need to be very careful this month. I'm flying to Iceland in just over a week and that will be expensive.

You've managed to save up for your oven without touching the money so it's available to use now so could you not do the same for next Christmas. Perhaps find a savings account where you lose interest if you take money out or even a regular saver which if you started now you would be able to access in November next year in good time to do your Christmas shopping.

Survived half term 1!
I travel to Iceland on Monday for three nights, so that will be a nice city break. DD is very much looking forward to it, especially the blue lagoon we have booked on Wednesday. We find out when the Northen lights tour is when we get there. I've missed every uk sighting.
Still waiting a response from park about my vouchers.
Money is currently OK. Hope it stays this way.
Half term is covered both being away. I've got travel money sorted, airport money is coming in on Saturday too.
Hopefully everything is covered x

I always do the YBS Christmas Saver. It starts in January and matures at the end of October. You can put up to £150 a month away. Although I don’t actually use it for Christmas, my Christmas pot is made by shaving off oddments, usually end up with around £600 in there by the end of October (it’s similar to the Virtual Sealed Pot challenge).I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)1
