All major bills out the account, and it's still looking OK. No overpayment made this month due to Iceland and also half term week, which is why I'm OK. Also had to take into account the money spent that should have been on the voucher.
In good news, I won another £50 on the community lottery i play, and £50 on the normal lottery. Both received yesterday.
I did go out for a meal with DD last night as she doesn't like Halloween and I spent a small proportion of my birthday money. The rest went on Iceland.
Contemplating whether I spend some of the winnings on some treats but not sure if there's anything I want or need at the minute. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Didn't win on the euros last night, but I believe it was a rollover too.
I was very grateful for the wins. £120 is a huge win to me in a short period.
Analysis of the months spending is so much better. I am really on top of what is where and where it should be.
I used the pots idea to put DD's spends directly into one pot, and did that for a few other bills. That has worked out well because it's all accounted for.
This month is phone upgrade month, or in my case sim only. I have a feeling you can only change contracts if you're going to upgrade as opposed to switching to a sim only. I will see at the end of the month when I can see what offers are open to me.
I need food shopping this weekend. I didn't get much last time and I will need a few extra bits.
Had the dentist this week as well, which was fine. I had the money set aside for it.
Hoping to start saving more money every month. DD isn't keen on her drumming lessons so has suggested she wants to stop. That's £38 a month and my phone bill saving will be at least £35 a month less. I'll see if I can find another £27 savings to make it £100.
This is on top of the other savings i did earlier in the year when I changed the car and fixed the gas and electricity.

Well done on the Savings that's great. Always better if you can get your monthly costs down. I just moved to a new sim only plan myself with Mr A for £5.99 a month and you get 2% back in their rewards scheme a month. It's always worth shopping around.
Good news on the wins, maybe put the money aside so that when you see something you want or need you have it there.*Dad loan - £5300 - £7200
*Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
*Natwest - £1828.35 -£0.00
Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £0.00
Creation Finance - £960.32 £840
*Total debt - £8040/£11641.17*
Savings
*Savings Buffer - £100/£1500
*Emergency Fund - £1500/£1500

That's a good deal, I'm wanting something that cheap.
I was supposed to go to uni today. Had myself all ready to go and then felt so tired and got in the car and realised I didn't have everything I needed and would be late. I just gave in at that point.
Instead, I've just worked on myself today. The house has been neglected as my arm has been bad so I felt like I could do things today I just tidied up, got rid of two bags of clothes, did the food shop, rearranged the conservatory, did washing, and emptied all bins. I hoovered the house and did the stairs now my arm was better. Took hangers to be recycled, tidied some cupboards, and also decluttered lots of items.
I'm going to buy the oven in a minute on the way to pick up DD from her dad's.
Then I'll do tea, bath and settle down for the evening.

Got the oven, but not in store. They weren't the ones I wanted and I didn't want to settle. Frustrating as I had to pay £30 on delivery as they didn't do collection from store either. I'm so annoyed at the whole process of it. Oven was £179 and then £30 delivery with no other option. Sadly, the cheapest in store was £199 and chrome so not the black I want.
I just need to remind myself that it could be worse and out of my account and it wasn't.
I've got £26 left on my savings. I'm not sure what I'll get with this.
I've also got £31 in Tesco vouchers. I bought some bits today.
Still good money wise. Just need to hold it for the next 12 days.

Just did some quick calculations and from September 2024 to January 2025 (when there are a couple of adjustments) my monthly bills would have been reduced by over £300. The car was a huge saving, followed by my phone to come and then there's a few £20-£30 bits that I've managed to save and a few more bits that I know won't be repeated come January.
My biggest debts are my mortgage and car, so they're what I overpay and this will also continue.
I need to set up a standing order for my debt to increase the amount I'm over paying.
I hadn't really worked it out, but spent a little time tonight doing it, and was surprised how much those little bits do add up. A few of them are the clubs DD no longer attends or wants to do. That came in around £70.
Car fuel is more like £130 a month.
Some online groceries I get was £25 cancelled. My phone to come will be around £36. Fixing gas and electricity reduced £20 too and then the Xmas saving has stopped and I'm going to use the money to put into my savings. That's around £23. Some bills naturally end in December so that's good.
I'll use it to pay off debt.
Always nice when you can see progress. Makes it seem more worthwhile. X

Ended the payday month out of my overdraft. Only £18 out of it, but it's better than being in it.September 2017 Debt = £25330
