That’s brilliant well done one of my granddaughters plays the cornet in a band and she’s been all over the country with it we thought she might lose interest when she started college but she ended up joking the youth band and singing in the college choir she enjoys it I think you did the right thing with DD if they are pushed into doing something they don’t want to they lose interest if she enjoys it she will do it in the end especially now she has done a bit of it1

That was my thinking, too. I'm not pushing her, but I was playing anyway.
It was a good night and I enjoyed it. The main band are really talented and played some very complex pieces. I like listening to talent. Also have to admit that a brand band playing Christmas songs always brings a tear to my eyes. XSeptember 2017 Debt = £25330

Me to it’s one of my favourite things about Christmas0

This band has a Christmas concert. Last Year DD played with the training band. This year I'll be playing, but will leave DD to see.
It felt very strange being up there this time.
After my back injury, I lost the ability to play the piano because of my arm aching. This is my replacement. I could already read music and knew the dynamics etc on a piece so that's at least a small part accomplished. Mouth movement, air, breathing and valves are my only hurdles 😂🤣. I thought playing instruments was supposed to be easy. With a piano, you press C and you get C. With a brass instrument, you can blow and get nothing at all!
Looking forward to the Christmas band playing.

Sorry to hear about your auntie’s cancer spreading, I hope something can still be done for her.Well done to you playing in the concert 👏 Hopefully DD will come round, it’s hard when they’re young and rebelling. She might be too self conscious.I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Got my vouchers through that I'd saved up for. I spent one card in one shop getting DD some winter clothes. That was fine and no worries.
Then I went to the second shop where I buy all the main presents for my extended family. Nothing expensive, just little bits. I get to the till and the gift card is declined. I'd activated it and couldn't understand why until I checked the website and they stopped accepting them in August 2024. This was the store website. The voucher website still has it advertised on the cards main page but not on the new downloaded list. The list of shops I can use it are not shops I would normally go to. I'm now significantly out of pocket because I paid for the shopping out of embarrassment (this will now have to come out of my emergency fund) and stuck with a voucher I will struggle to spend. The whole point of getting this card was for this shop. I've put a complaint in, but they'll just revert to the line that says they change.September 2017 Debt = £25330

Fingers crossed they’ll exchange the card for you as a result of your complaint.
If not, what shops can you use it at? Maybe folk will have some ideas.0 -
Just one supermarket, but it's an out of my way supermarket.
Primark is on there
The range is also on there.

It's the purple card so there's lots of shops, just none I would go to for what I get people.
Hopefully they do something with my complaint.September 2017 Debt = £25330

Sell the card on to someone at your work maybe? Or on ebay. Somebody you know must shop at those shops?22: 3🏅 4⭐ 23: 5🏅 6 ⭐ 24 1🏅 2⭐ 25 🏅 🥈⭐ Never save something for a special occasion.
