  • What about putting the money into something like premium bonds that take a couple days to withdraw and not so easily accessed? I had multiple pots but now I have fully funded my annual expenses I have put it all into one and will top saver back up once I need to use it. You have to find what works for you.

  • DD started high school today. She's had a good day.

Can't believe my baby is in high school!

  • What a roller coaster week. DD started high school and did amazingly considering she was very anxious and it's been a total change for her. I also went back to work after the summer, and that was also a shock to the system!

I've been trying to support myself without the work money and so far managed, £800 a month that doesn't come from my full-time role. I want to have enough away from work to pay for my essential bills only. For that, I'll need a fair bit more, but knowing I can get there slowly is encouraging.

I'm slowly reducing everything I can to save money monthly, so the amount I need to raise is getting smaller.

I have a full university day tomorrow. I always enjoy it so looking forward to writing again tomorrow.

  • Pay day on Friday. Can assess where I am.

I shouldn't be in my overdraft with any luck. I have shopping to do today and that's it till Friday. I have enough fuel in the car, DD has lunch money sorted so no additional costs.

It's the month of money change for me. Back to the budget and making sure I stick to it. £50 shopping budget for today. I do need a fair fee bits but it's doable.

  • That's great if you can manage to stay out of your overdraft.

  • Morning,

Very tired today. The change in weather has really aggravated my back and it's not liking the damp. It's really bothering me the last week.

Paid off the Christmas vouchers I've ordered. That's £325 heading my way in the next few weeks ready for me to get all the small things. DD has had her main present bought as well.

    Cut down some bills
Paid off DD phone £21 saved a month
    Cancelled my gym £22
    Fixed on energy £23 saved
    Paid off Christmas £22 saved
Fuel saving is harder to calculate but £30 less to fill up and 200 miles etc on the range. I think that's about £90 a month saving, but won't know for sure until the end of the month.

Replaced with DD spends for jobs. Now she is in high school, she wants responsibilities and money.
Lunches and break snacks. DD has discovered she likes some of the food and I needs dinner money.

At least I'm not worse off!! I've recouped money from one place and put it in her bank.

I have some things I can save money on going forward
Phone due up. That'll save at least £35.
Over pay car - that's drops by a few £s each time, but worth it to keep it coming down.

  • Payday today.
Trying to stick to my budget so overpaid by £400 to the car payment.
The biggest bills are due out tomorrow as well and that gives me an idea of where I am up to.
Limited savings this month as Iceland trip is something I'm saving for so money aside for that.

Food shopping needs to come in around £40, which I think is doable if I stick to the list.

I know. I've had to complain already about not having the right support in place, but have to say they acted promptly and now she's got things in place that she needs.

She seems OK. I'm just grateful for that!

  • Weekend turned out not as planned.

DD's clubs and then food shop was £40.45 so pretty much on budget. We had ice skating yesterday followed by dropping at her dad's. Unfortunately, he's once again forgotten what had been agreed and wasn't in, so DD got frustrated and upset and told me to drive her home. He's then got me.tk call and said as the adult I should be making the decision and not allowing DD to say she doesn't want to see her dad.

It's so hard. She's autistic and so it's not that easy. Forcing her to do something she doesn't want to do leads to meltdowns and it's always me that has to manage them.

Anyway. Went to see my auntie, she's doing OK considering. Then relaxed at home. My back has flared up so I'm struggling with that. Driving is the worse and so that really annoyed me yesterday that I had an extra hours drive for nothing.

All big bills are out of the account so going to see where I'm up to.

Tired today though. My back keeps me up at night.
