Three years to get debt free

Happy Saturday
My usual driving to clubs is cancelled as DD isn't well. She's got a temperature and feels sick. I've given her some medicine for the temp and left her in bed. She doesn't like missing classes so I know she's ill, plus she's boiling hot.
I've not been focused on money the last few months and for various reasons, all my own doing, I ended up £400 in my overdraft. Not ideal and I've sat down and worked out a plan of how to resolve it this month only ready to start fresh in September with a savings and credit card goal. It's basically cut back.on everything to get myself out of it.
I've saved up almost £300 for Christmas already so that's the cupboards stocked up and I'll have to buy DD and family presents, but I have the bulk of the money already.
I'm glad I've done a reset and at least should start to see things change for the better in my savings and credit card.
Have a lovely day everyone x

I’m like you willow tree, took my eye off the ball as they say. Realised today I was getting to the stage of not wanting to look at my bank balance, even tho I am still in credit. Last time this happen I got myself into a bit of debt, something I swore wouldn’t happen again. So today went through account and it’s all looking fine. Have saved myself £68 today just by deciding not to go and have my nails done at the salon, but do them myself. Not sending money in birthday cards to 2 people I know as I never see them and don’t get thanked. Not buying raffle tickets for a raffle somebody I know is doing, as if I do it for them I have to do it for others and finally allowing my DS to pay me back some money that he owes me. I usually say no it’s fine I’ll pay but now realise that cannot be the way if I’m to sort my finances out.
Ive started saving for Xmas a few months ago by putting money away in the supermarket savers club. Decided not to go mad either this Xmas.
Like you know I have had a reset I feel better and hopefully by the end of the year can have around £500 in an EF which is my goal as well as staying in credit.x:j Debtfree and and staying that way.:j3-6 month emergency fund, No.61 £140.002 -
Thanks Amber, Iet it go a little a few months ago but ita really hit this month.
I've budgeted £50 a week shopping which is low especially at the minute. I've been nearer to £80 the last few months. I checked the freezer and fridge before I went so I wasn't guessing what I would need. I picked up a couple of holiday essentials and it came in at £39 something. I did get DD some bits in that as well.
I've just got to focus this month to manage the overdraft situation and then keep on top of it.
I've ordered some school uniform and will be picking that up. In the past, I have bought everything straight away and some things ended up not fitting after a few months. This year, I've bought half and will top up as and when I need to. It's little things like this that build up over the year.
Yesterday I did three lots of washing that I was playing in and out with the rain. Managed to get it dry eventually. I also sorted the downstairs cupboard, and put some clothes in the recycling. I have aimed to declutter 100 items this summer. DD's clothes will be half of this alone.
Have a lovely Sunday everyone

Phew finished for the holidays. I have been working today though and there's a hearing I'll need to attend at some point.
I fiy to warmer climates on Thursday though. I'm excited. I have snorkeling and horse riding on the beach booked.
Still waiting summer money. Most of it should arrive at the end of this month.
Money is ok. Hard as I've had to buy last minute holiday bits, but that will be replenished with summer money.
Hope everyone is having a lovely week x

Back from holiday to this lovely weather. Sadly, a rabbit died whilst we were away and my mum had to phone me with the news. I didn't tell DD till we got home as I didn't want to upset her on holiday. He was old and hasn't vedn right since Christmas but I was still upset and DD was too. The other rabbit is missing him so we've brought him in the house more so he has company.
I've used the summer money to clear more of the credit card. I thought moving it there would force me into action, but the mentality of it's an unfair debt carried through. I've got £2500 to pay off it by November. I have to do it otherwise I pay interest. I was going to save it but decided to just pay off a chunk.
Christmas money is fine. I've saved almost £300, which will pay for a fair bit. I have £200 to last me 10 days and I don't want to end up in my overdraft.
I made some solid decisions on the holiday. Things need to change for me and I know what I need to do.
Hope everyone is having a lovely Saturday. X
