Those type of events are always so expensive and it’s not fair they don’t let you take at least a few bits in with you. I can understand not allowing alcohol in but for all they know someone could be on a special diet. I’ve had water taken off me at one which I was really cross about.

Great idea to set up a separate savings pot for this sort of thing.

    Enjoy the day anyway.

Enjoy the music today, I agree things are dear everywhere you go at the moment .
Yes, even soft drinks are expensive. She did get her hair done with some braid things as well. That cost £20. We will agree a plan of action for the rest of the weekend later. My bank isn't endless!

You're allowed sealed water only. The queue to get in was huge yesterday as well so a lot of people probably drank there's in the heat.

I think I'll need to remortgage to go next year!

It has been a mixed week and thankfully next week is payday. I have my summer conference day on Sunday so that should keep me busy for the next month and hopefully replenish my savings. This money always pays for house items and repairs and a little treat for me. Last year was the log burner and new bag. DD has already spent her money at the festival but I'm sure she'll manage to wangle something else nice.

This year is just paying for the fence and don't door and possibly some of the holiday if I can work quickly enough. X

Summer job is in full swing. I'm getting up.at 5am to do it, full day of work, followed by more at night. Deadline is the 5th July and I should be complete by this weekend. I do need the extras though, so it's another 10 days of working 12 hour days.

Pay will be split between July and August and a very small amount in June. I have no emergency funds as I leant someone what I had. It's fine as I'll get it back, but I do feel vulnerable having had it and now not.

I'm really tired as the heat makes it hard to sleep, and I can't afford to not get up at 5am and work the extra. The summer job has a maximum of a 5 week window, so I know how precious it is to make the most of it.

Had a letter from the bank about my overdraft advising me that they think it's too much. Its £500, which I thought wasn't too bad, but clearly, they think it's an issue. They also said I'm reliant on it,  which isn't true as I've not really used it apart from last month. Every time I went into it, my savings were moved to take me out x

Good that you have the summer job to get some extra cash even if it’s hard work for a short period of time. Boo to the bank that sounds uncalled for 🙁

Thanks Sun, I did think it was odd and spoke to a few people in work today and they have considerably larger ones than me, earning the same or less, and are constantly in it. Their wages don't even get them out of it. They're with the same bank too and were laughing about it. I wonder if I had the letter because they're not making any money from me? If I go in it, it's usually put right within a day and my interest payment are pennies. They keep offering me a credit card, which makes me wonder what's happening. Surely if I can't afford a £500 overdraft, the credit card isn't going to be affordable either.
Oh well, they've said they're not going to do anything! X

Interesting few weeks with the summer job. It's pretty much done now, and after tax, it'll come in around 3k. I'm very very lucky to earn this and it will have paid for the fence and doors that have already been replaced. I do intend on treating myself to a  heated blanket for winter and some gel pens! DD has had her money already too.

I'm grateful that I can earn extra. It's hard getting up at 5am though and then after a full day, carrying on until late. I'm feeling tired now and glad it's only 2 weeks till we finish.

Money hasn't been great this month for various reasons. I expected some summer pay like previous years, but it didn't happen. I'll have to cope with it though sa d ensure next month doesn't have the same result.

The good news is the reduction in energy bills. That's going to help a fair bit. I've had my heating on off for months now. I'm also going to stock up on wood burner fuel for winter whilst the energy bill is lower.

Summer hols are always expensive too. I'll need to make sure DD us occupied!
