Its true that 2 wages coming in makes things easier .....as long as you are both of similar mindsets.  You only have to read the diaries on here to realise some poor souls have been completely unaware of debts their partner is racking up, the anguish that some go through trying to hide money issues from partners,  the way some couples work their money separately when they earn widely different salaries yet the richer one feels the other should be able to do the same etc etc. At least you can comfort yourself with the knowledge you are in complete control  - if you want to cutback you can, if you want to change priorities one month you can.

So I'd say that the goddam card might be gone, might be bigger,  who knows.. but with your focus, on your own it will definitely be gone soon!

    Daisy xx

Thanks Daisy, yes, there is all of that people are going through..i don't often reflect on being with anyone, as my choice has been made, just sometimes thoughts creep in.

Whenever I have a loan, or the credit card, it's always something I know I've bought and I tackle it head on. This is the remnants of buying my ex out. Its his 'extra' that he says he put in more than me when I bought him out. Yes, he did put an extra 10k down the line, but at the beginning, I'd paid a lot of things that never got acknowledged. That's what my issue is. I've never seen it as a justified debt that I've racked up so that's why I've just never tackled it properly for the last 3 years and spent a lot of time moaning about it!!!!!

It really has become the god damn credit card! Before that it was the god damn loan and quite soon it Will hopefully be the god damn party to celebrate the paying off of the god damn credit card!!

Thanks for your comments, it does put it more into perspective that it's all in my control. Just what I needed to hear.

    Morning,

A purchase I made 6 weeks ago has just come out, so I'm in my overdraft. There's no way of making the money or rescuing myself this time in the 1 day. I'm not pleased I'm in my overdraft however, it's by around £13 and pay day is Tuesday. Last months was over £350 so it's a sizeable reduction and one I can work with. Let's hope I can start September overdraft free and then have a clear run till Christmas. I remember having a £1500 overdraft and never being anywhere near the bottom. Trying to get out of that was hard. It is what it is now and I'll be watching everything closely this month.

DD needs a few bits for school. School shoes, lunch bag, pe stuff and then she's sorted. I can get all that in the next few weeks.

A busy week ahead. Decluttering, building office stuff and some essentials like boiler service. DD has her club on Tuesday day.

Thankfully found the motivation to keep sorting today. Another bag or clothes and shoes to the charity drop off. Sorted out my drawers so they're all neat and tidy again, listed some items to sell, cleaned out the conservatory and found a place for the outdoor cushions so that means it all looks spacious again.

The bed is in the garage. A friend has asked for it so at least I know it's being reused.

I also sorted one of my wardrobes. It's a little cupboard space and just needed the shoes tidying at the bottom.

The spare room is totally ready for the office furniture now.

I don't feel like I've achieved much today. I went on a walk with DD and we ended up doing around 2.5 miles. That felt nice to get out.

I've asked for a refund on a product I bought with my summer money. I bought it having had a couple of drinks and now realising that it wasn't a good spend. I guess I'll have to pay return postage but I'm waiting on the seller to confirm. I hope it gets refunded anyway. It's a lot of money and I shouldn't have spent it. Nowhere near what I earned but a treat I could do without for a few more years.

DD has a camp tomorrow for 4 hours so I plan on doing some shopping in that time. Only food bits that I need. I'm not being extravagant this month as I can't afford to be. It's better shopping without DD. I get her some treats but if she's there, she always ends up with more!

    Payday tomorrow. Phew.

Finally sat down to chill. Lots of running round to do today.

Dropped DD off and then went to get some food and also stock up on other things like rabbit food etc. Had to drop off the return at the post office as well. That's a good chunk of money back. Also going to return the item that I ordered weeks ago but hasn't arrived yet. I forgot about it as it was pre order only. When that comes, it will be going straight back. That will hopefully replenish my account a little. I avoided coffee today by browsing the shop instead of sitting down. It's only a few pounds but it all helps.

Payday hit and I paid £500 off the god damn credit card. It's now just under £1900. I've got till November 1st to pay that one off. So only two paydays. I do have my extra summer money coming in too. That is paying for my office stuff though, but I'll send over an excess to it. I've paid out on most of the office things so it was just replacing that. I might be able to get it down by another few hundred if I don't do everything I wanted to do in the office and hold off till the new year or ask for things for my birthday rather than spend it myself.

Office items are arriving tomorrow. I am very excited and will make a start as soon as I can. They've already text saying afternoon.

This month is tough. I still need to get DD some school uniform, shoes, lunch bag and the boiler service is on Thursday. My car also needs two new back tyres as they are approaching legal limit now. I'll make it work, somehow you just do.

Also had an epic ordering fail.
I ordered this for DD to put in the garden for the rabbit that died.

I got this instead. Bit of a size difference, not to mention the red eyes, wonky top and the fact it creeps me out.

They don't even look alike!  I'm not surprised it creeps you out, it does me too!  I'd definitely be returning it.

That’s horrible 🙁 Hopefully you can send it back as it’s nothing like the one you ordered.
I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)

The seller has offered me a £3 reduction and I've asked for my whole money back. It is nothing like the picture and cost £10.

Busy day today. Furniture, working this morning and a couple of appointments.
