Court papers

Hi wonder if anyone can help.
Son received 2 x parking tickets from 2017 for not displaying permit in his residence. 1st one he received the day after he moved in as letting agent had not given permit. They said they would cancel but didn’t. No longer lives there was a student at the time.
2nd permit had slipped down. There are signs but nothing in tenancy states about displaying a permit or specific parking places just advertised as flat with free residential parking. Received 2letters from Elms ignored then court papers received on 02 June. Son went to work abroad in the 29th May 21 these arrived 2days later probably due to bank holiday. There is little or no internet where he is (Alaska) so I said I would acknowledge them and that he wanted to defend on his behalf rightly or wrongly but too late done now. Need to send in a defence by end of June. Any advice please. Not sure at moment how long he will be away possibly 3 months do I write to the court on his behalf to explain situation? Or send in his defence
Many thanks

He'd simply be using the template defence like everyone here does for non-ParkingEye cases. That's why it's at the top of the forum as an Announcement thread, to read first.
I hope you acknowledged it in his name not yours.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What is the Issue Date on the County Court Claim Form?
Upon what date did you file an Acknowledgment of Service?
The MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer to that.

How long is he likely to remain abroad? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute. To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.
Of course everywhere I have written 'you' or 'your' I mean the named Defendant.1 -
A defence is being compiled and have noted the date thanks , another question is when the defence is compiled do I attach a letter on the the defendants behalf stating he has gone abroad, It was just typical that they arrived 2days after he left the country we both thought it was best at the time to at least acknowledge the claim. Thanks0

You won’t be attaching any letter as the defence gets emailed with no attachments.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
