Yes, we looked into that one but two major issues they want more than the asking price, I wouldn't one our younger one to the local school. Or I would live in that particular town/village.getmore4less said:closer for the kids and still near a station and a major bus route.

For my own mental sanity I need a big town. Truro is ideal and thus why I really don't want to move out of this area. For my very own personal reasons St Austell would be ok, but as mentioned too far away for the school run.0 -
So, what's the point of this thread?
Sounds like the OP and her children want to go on holiday way more than to have a bigger house with private rooms for everyone.
In my case, with 2 daughters, a few holidays are definitely not worth more than a bigger house, but that's just us

@eidand just a good old moan. Because of our own very particular circumstances, by the time we save up the eldest would be in uni, so would.most certainly not benefit from the bigger house and he'd definitely not go on holidays either.0

I am lucky. I come from the generation where we people didn't go on holiday 3 times a year and so as adults we didn't consider luxuries like holidays as must haves especially if we couldn't afford them. Lots and lots of young people get into serious debt at the moment because they have had parents who don't understand that saying "no" is very important for the future finances and money management of their children who may not earn as much. Ever.

Then don't be surprised if your potential buyers suddenly disappear despite saying that they'll wait. If a better property comes along they'll vote with their feet. As much as you want to control the situation you have none at all.mrsmortgage said:We've told the EAs a thousand times this, and before we accept the offer we've asked the EAs to clarify it with the potential buyers0 -

First one is in Penryn (where I'm not moving and I would be my ex-husband's neighbour in that particular house), second one has sold?
My husband has looked at every single available house in a 10/15mi radius just in case and he said nothing was suitable.

My point was that if people are feeling the need to knock 50-70k off their asking price things are getting better, it won`t take much for that to accelerate IMO and the reports of a "red hot" market are as usual mostly EA hype.0
