We've told the EAs a thousand times this, and before we accept the offer we've asked the EAs to clarify it with the potential buyers0

I'm a senior nurse....I get half thatScotbot said:
75 k isn't a particularly high salary, yes higher than average but not exactly megabucks. With a few years experience medics, lawyers, accountants head teachers, hospital department heads, advertising execs will all be earning at least that. Senior nurses get around 70k.Anyanka1 said:So either you want to stay in the town in which you currently reside or you want to move and earn, in your estimation, £75k. I would love to know what you do that is worth that kind of salary.
Do you really need other people to tell you when you are happy? Something about this just does not ring true.6 -
as will most on band 6 need to hit band 8d to get to £75k,jazzyja said:

if a fortnight in the sun is worth more than her own room she is not that bothered about having her won room. I think you are projecting your wants on to your children.mrsmortgage said:
No, my daughter also prefers to go on holidays if the price to pay is to having to share her room.sheramber said:
So his choice takes precedence over your daughter's wish for her own bedroom.mrsmortgage said:
We've already had one! Our 13yo said that for him it was a no brainer, he'd rather go and experience an overseas holiday even if the price to pay was to stay in our house. He said that the main thing was that he was getting "older" and a family holiday wouldn't be the same for him later in life.boxer234 said:Right I’m with you but you can’t afford a 5 bed. Maybe have a family meeting should we save like mad to get this ? No holidays or stay as we are.8 -
Not her in particular. She's used to go to "the sun" in Cancun every year to visit family. That's a given, but before I was made redundant (three years ago) we'd go the the US, France, Spain, Germany...She's used to go on multiple holidays a year, she's used to it and she's seen on these three years what it's like to no go on holiday Vs sharing her room.sheramber said:

while you insist on remaining in town there is always going to be something wrong a lot won't have outside space or it will be compromised in some other way, parking being a common one.
Anything decent in you price range will get snapped and you are not ready on the market so any offer will get rejected unless you are lucky and it is through your EA and they want to link the deals.
You definitely need to widen the search area using bus and train options if needed.
How far are the schools from where you are now how do you get the kids there?
Where is hubby commuting?
Being 5mins walk to the train station that should open up options along the lines from there that don't add to the overall time.
That Pendeen cres house is 7minutes by car so won't be adding a lot to any trips anywhere only 15mins on the 47bus max 20m including walking if not driving.
15mins on the train gets you to St Austal
could have had this (£375) 5min walk from the station.

if that was too much then £300k get this 5 bed with 3 bathroom which will be needed for teens but not as night outside..

We are upsizing from terraced to detached. Compromise is that the 2 kids will have slightly smaller rooms but it's tough!! 😄 They're not thrilled but they can't understand the upsides of the increased downstairs space - and I wouldn't expect them to as they're children not adults lolmrsmortgage said:
Yes exactly! Because the rooms we've seen and our girls would end up in a much smaller room. (their current room is 14sqm, the best we can get is around 9sqm). The other two rooms tend to be box rooms, which is fine, that's better than what we currently have but our girls would end up paying the price.purplebutterfly said:
You can afford an overall bigger house with an additional bedroom and extra floor space BUT the bedrooms still aren't big enough?1 -
@getmore4less I actually don't care about the parking we don't have any at the moment and we really don't mind. We're also proceedable as we have an offer.
I'm somewhere open to St Austell, but we think it's way too far away for school runs, the children go to school around Falmouth. And one fo them suffers panic attacks for being late.
As much as I'm okish with St Austell (and would have to be within walking distance of the town centre) my husband isn't.0 -
Just to add - when we were looking at areas without a station we considered and budgeted taxi fares for the kids to get back from school - I'd drop them off. Depending on the cost, that may be a solution to allow you to move further away from their schools?
The youngest only had 1 year left of primary and then we'd have put her in a secondary nearer to our new house. That would only leave eldest to worry about, long term would have got them comfortable using the bus.0 -
Depends on your definition of senior I guess. Have a relative who manages an ICU in a large teaching hospital and she gets just under 70k.jazzyja said:
