Very true!Scotbot said:
75 k isn't a particularly high salary, yes higher than average but not exactly megabucks. With a few years experience medics, lawyers, accountants head teachers, hospital department heads, advertising execs will all be earning at least that. Senior nurses get around 70k.Anyanka1 said:So either you want to stay in the town in which you currently reside or you want to move and earn, in your estimation, £75k. I would love to know what you do that is worth that kind of salary.
Do you really need other people to tell you when you are happy? Something about this just does not ring true.0 -
So his choice takes precedence over your daughter's wish for her own bedroom.mrsmortgage said:
We've already had one! Our 13yo said that for him it was a no brainer, he'd rather go and experience an overseas holiday even if the price to pay was to stay in our house. He said that the main thing was that he was getting "older" and a family holiday wouldn't be the same for him later in life.boxer234 said:Right I’m with you but you can’t afford a 5 bed. Maybe have a family meeting should we save like mad to get this ? No holidays or stay as we are.1 -
No, my daughter also prefers to go on holidays if the price to pay is to having to share her room.sheramber said:

How many holidays are you proposing? It can’t be a huge amount if you are employed, surely? Will the kid’s opinions change once the holiday is done and dusted? I’m flabbergasted at their level of influence over adult decisions. My folks moved when i was 15 and i got absolutely no say in it, nor would i expect to. We’ve just moved. Did we ask for my daughter’s blessing? Not a chance!6

The move - not as easy as not asking them their other parents have to ok with it too (I mean the long distance one).tooldle said:How many holidays are you proposing? We're talking about a holiday abroad every year and one city break within the UK. I go back to my home country once a year but only take my own.

Was double abs the nickname of the builder?lookstraightahead said:How high are your ceilings? We've just moved house and the 10 and 12 year old boys whom lived here shared a room. Our house got an offer at asking price. It's not even on the open market which makes me think we could fetch even more £££. But how long is long enough (and reasonable enough to any potential buyers) to try and find out house?

Very much depends on your buyers position as to how long they are willing to wait. We sold our house mid July, found that weekend from someone who had already found, but their seller took until mid September to complete the chain.
We were prepared to wait as long as our buyer was willing to wait and luckily they had a flat they were going to rent out once they’d completed on ours so we’re prepared to hang on. Had we lost our buyer I’d have ask chain to give us a couple of weeks to resell as that was the deal our seller had when we saw our purchase and we sold in a week first time around.Start looking, be realistic and keep them updated, not much more you can do - but if sold easily hopefully you will again if you don’t find quick enough for this buyer.0 -
Have you told your prospective buyers that you probably won't move for ages? It's unfair to keep them waiting for a long time.2
