    Afternoon all

Just back from the panto - the whole school go and I get to go as a parent helper. Good fun.

Michelle I always think it is best to get the first scratch/stain over and done with on things and then you can set about enjoying them without the worry of spoiling them.

    Em hope you feel better

Lil_me that is such a big step for your DS to be in the play I am so happy for you both.

Right need to reply to a couple of emails, do a quick amazon order and then hopefully finish yesterdays list.

    Congratulations Sexymouse!

Busy, busy, busy. You'll be pleased to know I didn't break my nose on the wardrobe. Seven days to a week of visitors and still a lot to do... We have a Sunday midnight deadline for DH to replace the kitchen radiator (sprays water everywhere if you take the towel off, metal is shot), plaster round the chimney breast in the snug, and paint a third of a wall in the LR. All tools to be out by Sunday night and then the real cleaning can start.

I spent a couple of hours today tidying out SS1 (15) and SS2 (12) BRs as they are going to be used by our visitors. Rather annoyed to find that all the stuff they insisted on bringing from the old house 12 months ago remains untouched in boxes. Some of their stocking fillers from last year still have cellophane on! I have gone through and picked out bits that will suit the younger two and boogied the rest. In future they will be getting one big present and having done with it. Does this make me an evil stepmother? DH wasn't best pleased with them either, a lot of effort and money wasted.

    :j No poop this morning!

Been to asda with my Dad, hubby did the dishes but half the shopping is still in bags. to be fair, it is christmas stuff that I have no space for. I want to de-frost my freezer today and tidy out the cupboard too. felt really guilty at asda, I parked in a disabled space as there were no parent and child spaces. had DS2 with me though and my Dad was using a crutch so think I got away with it!

OK, I'm off to do something upstairs, will make a :coffee:. DS2 sleeping in his buggy atm, wonder how long it will last?

    Afternoon everyone!

I've had a bash at the children's rooms, pushed the vacuum round, washed the bedlinen. Also made my very famous chocolate fudge cake for DD's Christmas tea with her girlfriends tonight - they all make a contribution to tea, and exchange presents.

This afternoon, I decided that I would do some wrapping up, as the children now all go to bed so late, that I can't stay up long enough!! I have to get it done while they're at school. I put on some Christmas music, and did all of DD's.

My sister rang this morning, and was on the phone for ages. She doesn't know for sure, but reckons that they have moved Mum out of the rehab ward because they needed the bed for someone else who may respond more quickly to rehab - not that they were doing very much at all in the way of physio or rehab with Mum as far as we could tell. It seems she is in a high needs ward, with mostly very elderly patients. I gather the staff are far more attentive, but I do hope it isn't as depressing as the acute ward was... I'm meeting my sister there tomorrow. I really hate visiting the hospital, but I have stopped beating myself up about it - no-one would like it! We are going to exchange the Christmas presents for each other's families in the car park!! We're not getting together over Christmas Day, as neither of us want to spent the day in the car, and don't have houses big enough for everyone to stay.

li_me Another one here who cried.

    embb - happy to help!

sexymouse - Massive congratulations, I am so thrilled for you!!

Evening everyone. Sorry but I have decided against a weekend list this week. If people want to work to their own priorities or do some of what was on last weeks then that is fine with me, I will be myself, sorry but I think we all deserve the weekend 'off'.

serena if you are unsure you could ask on the ward why your Mam was moved, be blatent and say you would like to know the truth, not an excuse. Fingers crossed the new ward is a little less depressing and the staff are nice.

Spent 4 hours today wrapping & sorting presents, will help a bit as I have never wrapped anything before Xmas eve I don't think, I end up doing it all last minute and staying up stupidly late. Laundry was majority of the work apart from that, duvets draped over the landing off the boys beds etc. Kitchen tidied while I was cooking, not something I've done before but worked quite well. Sinks got VERY hot water in it at the mo, blocked up, think maybe something frozen in the pipes, will tackle that again later.

All the cards are now posted, parcels for ebay and presents that needed posting all done. I've never spent £30+ in the post office before, I nearly had a fit. Parcel delivery seems very expensive. Street cards written, will post them with the boys tomorrow.

Still no sign of Mrs Pigpen? when you do pop in the card arrived this morning, thank you :)

Right, need to order DPs Xmas present, I forgot about his :rotfl: he wants a soldering iron, quite an expensive one, pity I can't find codes for Machine Mart that work anywhere! Wonder if it's in any other shops cheaper.

Going to have a cosy night in with the boys, I'd ordered Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas from HMV, £3.99 bargain so going to watch that, have popcorn, icecream etc. Just enjoy being a Mam for a change (hoping they behave of course)

Oh my card tree arrived, DP hasn't built it so I might have a go tonight, he turned round and said 'What did you buy that for?' so I replied 'If you like I can go and pay 3 times the price for one in Next, I wanted one, OK!!!' he muttered and wandered off :rotfl: I have been charged P&P by Studio according to the bill, well DP has as it's his account :D so going to send them a snotty email telling them I am not paying for P&P!

While the boys are in the bath will do my tomorrow list, out all day Sunday selling raffle tickets at various places, so need to ddo what I can tomorrow, I think my Dad is coming over tomorrow afternoon aswell.
One day I might be more organised...........
