Thanks for the poem lil-me - brought tears to my eyes.

Thanks for the cards AnW's mum and Shell2001.

So far I've hoovered the LR and put the WM on!

I've got the Christmas fayre at work tonight but that's straight after school which isn't too bad, then going my parents' house for tea!

Other than that - not a lot happening.

Hope everyone has a good day.

  • WOw such a thought provoking poem for 7am, certainly bought a tear to my eye.

Well am wondering whether I should get my Christmas tree today, especially after reading that poem as at the moment our house is void of Christmas except for my DS advent calendar. Will go either this morning or tomorrow morning when B&Q opens ;)

Well i went to the gym last night for the first time in about two years, gave up as i bought back bad memories. Well given the fact that I really haven't done ANY exercise for 2 years, and 2 children later  I managed to do a staggering 3 lengths. Had a really lovely shower after (no shower at home :() I plan on going swimming twice a week and maybe the gym or a class once. DH is off over Christmas so hope to go then and get some time on my own. May even book massage or something ;). Problem is that it is soooo expensive and the moment I am doing a monthly contract but am looking at getting Pru Health Insurance as then it will only cost me £15. Would run around my area but by the time the children are in bed and I get some me time I wouldn't really facing running in the dark on my own. Any way enough of my ramblings ere is my list
Flipping Friday!! - those scary kids rooms and spare rooms
    Level One
Vacuum the floor, even if it's just where you can see
[STRIKE]Spend at least half an hour doing something for yourself! Another one of Pigpen's great ideas and nothing more important at this chaotic time of year[/STRIKE]. Friday Night is the day DH and I spend some precious time together so may watch a movie or play the wii
    Level Two
Clear away anything that isn't in it's place, clothes, toys, books etc
Dusting, all those shelves and flat surfaces. Don’t forget the light shade and curtain rail.
    Level Three
[STRIKE]Strip beds, turn and vacuum mattresses, replace with fresh linen[/STRIKE]DONE ALREADY
[STRIKE]Clean window, make sure lockable ones in littlies rooms are locked! [/STRIKE]
Wipe any sticky marks off walls and doors
    Extra Task List

*[STRIKE] Wash a set of curtains, nets, duvet or throw[/STRIKE]
    * Wipe the radiators, skirtings, window & door frames!
    * Sort the childrens clothes.. what can you get rid of? What do they need replacing?
    * Grab a binbag and fill it with stuff to leave the house, rubbish or charity shop or to donate elsewhere, free up some space for Christmas

  • morning everyone.

quick wave as i should be getting ready for work.

I've made the decision to avoid going to see johny ball at school in my part time hours, and come home for a couple of hours instead to get some stuff done - will write myself a list in my free time while the form are in assembly this morning, and then i will catch up with you all while i eat my lunch. Last friday at school for me. :j

Tia so sorry to hear of your sh*tty troubles :( is it worth contacting the GP or HV? lol @ lists/baby lists. Got my present list but there are gaps where I haven't got anything or mot a lot for some people  but they are the adults and TBH I am not going to worry about it, A & W are my priority and they are sorted. Wines and chocs sound good susbstitues
Sexymouse congrats on the job offer :T:j that is great news.

Rach great idea on the packing front, label the boxes so you know what is in each for unpacking at the other end! Or get them to right an inventory to pop in the top so you can see at a glance what's in each box.

Michelle you need to make sure you are eating at sensible times girl, late night eating is not good especially when pregnant :naughty: The housework and school can wait your health is more important.

Lil_me great news about DS and the nativity can imagine he teary grin from here :D As to present wrapping I love doing that job, DH was quite happy to leave it to me ;) he would take the kids out of the way so I could get on in peace. But he always made an excellent job of wrapping mine :) The sad thing was I found the paper he used on my pressies his last Christmas (really nice gold paper) I don't want to use it for anyone else but then again I have enough paper to redecorate our house at least twice over!!!!

That poem is so touching, certainly makes you think, thanks for sharing it with us.

Michelle is someone videoing Johnny Ball. if not usggest it so you can see him later ;)

Right, all caught up (as you might have guessed from this post length!) better go and get brekkie for the troops and get organised.

Have a good day everyone, see you all later. Oh and thanks for the Christmas cards :)

  • Hello,

Hope everyone is ok. Im sitting here crying, thanks lil_me. The poem is lovely, a friend sent it to me recently and i was sitting in work in floods of tears then. One of my best friends was in Iraq for Christmas last year and it was so difficult for him, he even volunteered for guard duty on the day so he didnt have to think of Christmas.

    AnW'smum hows the lights?
Thank you for the cards everyone. Its feeling rather Christmassy here.

Had a bit of a wierd week.
My kitchen is a shell, everything been ripped out and they are due in 10mins to start doing stuff in there. :j
So as a consequence my house is a tip. The contents of the kitchen are spread around the house - in a 5 roomed house, loosing 1 room turns your life upside down. So there is sod all flying done.
Had a day off on Wednesday for the first time in 4 months. But it just seemed to be more manic than a day at work  (friend and i went to the pub, she then had to get up earlier than if i had been at work ) and then had a visit from my new bf 4hrs late at 11pm. Not impressed, but was lovely to see him.

Right where are they, ive spent 10 mins typing here, i got up swiftly so i was ready......

    Take care everyone.
    Axxx
