ok .. my turn for drama.. just don't want to be outdone ! lol
MIL has been in hospital about 3 weeks, went in with a bowel obstruction.. she is being sent home on Friday for palliative care.. to go back in for a tummy op on Monday and it's not looking good.. if that op is successful and they stem the profuse bleeding she is likely to have a (gangrenous/necrotic?) foot amputated.. I am INSISTING OH takes Sunday off work and goes to see her.. he might not get another chance.. I want to send Squeak with him too but I'm not sure her anxiety or mine can handle it.. I can, I have no choice. but how do I tell my super-sensitive special squeak her favourite person in the whole world isn't likely to survive? .. Every time we have left for the last 3 years she has thought it would be the last time she would see her.. and this time it probably will be. OH is VERY quiet.. I'm not sure what he thought palliative care meant but he definitely didn't expect 'life-threatening illness/end-of-life care' as the answer... I saw his whole life shift.
Bouncy castle scrubbed and dried.
Pay day tomorrow so I am doing a big food shop and OH is filling the car up, we have been living on Foodbank tins and the bags of pasta I bought in a strop (I bought 9 x 3KG bags in a week because Tesc0 said I could 'only' have 3 bags) for 3 weeks.
Another duvet to wash... blooming sprinkly cat!
Kaz.. huge hugs and I hope some positive news is forthcoming.
Iona.. better to know what the enemy is.. I hope DS is soon back on his feet, the chair is a good start xx
Love and huge and healing vibes and comfy fluff for everyone, esp ASB, Fayolle, Valli and just everyone..
I'm going to my nest.. I am so very done with this week already.

Morning all,
Piggers - I am so very saddened to read about your MiL. You are absolutely right to insist DH takes Sunday off work. Sending you all the love - and FWIW, I would send Squeak. She is clearly a very intelligent girl and will understand what you are explaining to her. But whatever you do will be right by your daughter, it's one of those situations where there is no right and wrong, only what you think is best xx
Iona - I hope you had a good sleep and can factor in some Iona time today xx
No word from the Drs yet. The heat of the day plus constantly waiting for my phone to ring wore me out, I went to bed at 7.30 with the children and slept until 6am.
DW is on, I have some admin to do, and DS is going to a sports club again today. This one costs - yesterday was free - but my lovely mum is paying it for me. It has rained overnight so no need for me to water the plants thank goodness.
I need to make DS packed lunch now and sort the laundry.
Also need to buy some school shoes for DD, I had hoped we could limp through until the end of the summer term, but she is firmly in a 2 now and her shoes are all a 1 so needs must!
Have fab days all x9 -
Morning all ❤❤
Oh my. I don't know where to begin. Big hugs and mahoosive love to you all. So many of you facing / climbing life mountains. All I can do is offer a listening ear if anyone needs to offload.
My bed is made. The last of the socks has been recovered from the ottoman- I can see the base at one side. Still not found my frog sock though.

Enormous (((hugs))) and love to pigpen, OH and Squeak xxx
asb, did the surgery promise that you would get a phonecall yesterday? If so, ring them back and ask why you've not had one!
Well done, round - one side of the base is brilliant progress.
Whoopee! I've just gone to enter an appointment in my phone diary and discovered that today is Thursday, not Friday, so I have an extra day in which to Fly and bake

Echoing round and sending big hugs, supportive and healing vibes to all in need x
Cooler today here so far thank goodness, dailies have been done, I’ve made a list for the shop later, Wm has just finished so will pop and fling that on the line when I go to make my second cuppa.

Oh my, we are all just going through the wringer right now. Massive hugs and love to everyone, especially Pigpen, ASB, Iona and Kaz xx
ASB - so glad to see your last post. Be sure to use the 2 weeks for what you need it for, my lovely, and not to run yourself further into the ground x
Iona - please rest, my love, now that you have “gained” a day. I think knowing what caused DS’ pain has to be far better than not in the long run, maybe not in the moment. Everybody knows what they are dealing with x
Kaz - you know where I am, as always xx
Piggers - whatever you do will be right for you and your family. You probably just need to chivvy along OH who has probably reverted to Child. Lots of hugs, I don’t care if you don’t do hugs xx
Sorry if I have missed anyone, so have a hug anyway.
Yesterday I did a full on day at paid stuff. They get their lowly hourly rate out of me, for sure. But it isn’t unpleasant, and they are very flexible, so nothing to be stuffy about. DH, DD and I went out for a pub meal. Unheard of - we only ever go out together when we go on holiday. DD and I shared a bottle of wine, and DH drove, which was a bonus. Oh yes, and yesterday, I got a full on UTI, just to make my life complete.
After another night in the WAC, I have showered, dressed, changed the bedding, set the wm on. DD is going out this afternoon / evening as it’s her friend’s 18th. I will be on tenterhooks (just borrowing some, if there are still a couple spare) until she gets back. We have some issues atm.
The plan is to actually clean the minging bathrooms today when everybody has vacated them.
Hugs, hugs and more hugs xx
