Hugs ditty, that is tough for you not to be able to go and visit your Sister.Today will be NSD 2, I am chillin' out on the sofa - it is warmish but cloudy, I am in a new-to-me, burnt orange, lightweight trouser suit. I am pretending I am a flame. DS3 told me I looked more like an Oompa Loompa. I had bad thoughts about him.DH is out looking at new-to-us cars (8/9 yrs old - his current car is 16!) which he can buy because he has been putting money aside each month in case his car fell over and died. No finance needed.I am going to make a chocolate cake, mostly because I can, so I shall, and I rescued some v sad looking basil on the kitchen window sill into a lovely pesto sauce for supper tonight.Happy Friday Turtles!!!Gratitudes : Marmalade on toast for breakfast (harnessing my inner Paddington), Rescue Pesto, Henry H00ver bags arrived in the post - most disappointing post ever!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Hi turtles
First check in of the month. Didn't start so well as I had a migraine for a couple of days. Tried to work through it and just made things worse so ended up having to take a sick day during the week. Finally starting to feel a bit more human now.
I've managed 2 NSD's so far, can't remember exactly what I've bought except for frog food for my frog. Managed to sell some stuff for my mum on ebay so will get that posted tomorrow morning. Am on call so will need to get out to the post office first thing if I can.Save £2,400 tuition fees - £2,321.04 as of 08/24

NSD 2. I am evolving into a mole - I dig, I move soil (and a few edging stones today, playing with my lucky crowbar), I lie down, I fall asleep. It is looking better (could hardly look worse), I am getting there. Weird communication day. Another phone call from the ex, mum was chattering away to him but then shouted for me (I should have gone to hide in the shed), He asked when I'd last been in contact with DS2 as DS2 has covid again. DS2 phoned him part way through our call so he broke off. Then DS2 phoned me. He sounds ill but was better than he has been the past few days. Test was only confirmed today. DS2 had been pulling all nighters for some assignment deadlines, then logging on for work, so wasn't surprised he was tired. His symptoms were also in line with a new suspected rare genetic condition he's being investigated for so they were doing the test just to rule it out. So now need to do some research to investigate possible sources.
Then had a message from DS3 - the drain backed up again so another visit from the big sucky truck. They showed him the camera footage this time but no obvious reason why it's happening. I've given him a rent credit as my contribution towards the cost (they paid the camera cost last time which was over £300). Back outside to do another couple of buckets, did six. If I can't get to town tomorrow (the thought of Saturday crowds doesn't thrill me) I will need to order some things on line - I can't put up shelf brackets or finish off the raised beds without replacement screwdrivers (was using 4/ 5 in turn for raised beds part one and only two were any use at all - think I've now exhausted their usefulness).
Heavy wool quilt has been out on the line to air.
Grateful for easy food/ use ups, books (new to me authors and old friends), finding a spot to tackle the edging from as the end part refused to budge. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage4 -
Evening all
Not very jolly chez Deni as DD2 and I are isolating. We went to tea at DD1's house and she got a positive result the next dayDD2 and I both feel ok but DD1 has been ill all week; she's had to miss out on a day's work and rearrange a hospital appointment. DD2 had to cancel her second vaccine. We're all a bit fed up!
I've had a good week at work, was on leave today but did some of my self employment. DD2 and i had a takeaway for tea. I've done my exercise classes on Fb but eaten far too much rubbish.
Gratitudes - friend doing a shop for us and bringing me flowers; DD2 accepting with good grace that she must cancel her plans; friend phoning up to check on us; DD2's friend bringing us a takeaway coffee and a big bar of chocolate

Deni, that sounds rough, I hope you stay well and I am glad you had takeaway. Hope DD1 is ok. Big love all round X
The gardener was a raging success. He will be great and allow me to get on with the more in depth stuff like the fish pond and the rabbit housing
I technically can't afford the gardener. But I don't want to waste another year not using the garden because it isn't finished.
I will figure out paying him.Nevertheless she persisted.8 -
Hope you're OK, Deni, and DD1 is feeling better soon.
Apple - I think they might do something like that. I'll have to look into it.
Yesterday was NSD No 4.
I got my walk yesterday. It was only two and a half miles but I was struggling a bit at the end. I am so unfit but it was very hot. We've both overslept today (very unusual for me) so I think I'll have to give it a miss today. Lots to do around the house.
I defrosted some fish yesterday but by the time it came to have dinner Himself didn't feel like it. So I've cooked it and am going to make fishcakes today which I'll freeze as I have also defrosted mince to make a chilli.
I finished my book last night. It was really good. I've started another.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.6 -
Today I am grateful for getting to visit mum, for being allowed to get on an earlier train home, for dh picking us up, for banana bread/cake, for the tennis.

Evening turtles 🐢
Busy day today, got called in to work, I stop getting paid at midday but was there until 2.30, will have to claim the time back somewhere. Bit of a rubbish day but all done now.
Came home and started stripping the paint on the living room radiator as it's peeling everywhere. Only got about halfway through and it will need a second go. But there's no rush!
Spends today on train fare, filling the car up this evening as that needed doing as well, a car wash (did hope to do it myself but work got in the way), and some stuff for the rabbits. Oh and a bottle of beer, because it's Saturday and I spent most of the day in a dingy basement office while the sun was shining outside!Save £2,400 tuition fees - £2,321.04 as of 08/24

Sending good thoughts & sunshine for those who are under the weather or having a tricky time.
Still on 0 nsd. The amounts haven't been much, but still count! Stayed the night at mum"s, we had oven chips & fish, etc, so cheaper than a takeaway. Watched a film, did some pampering, a bit of craft work & lots of laughs. Best night we've both had in ages!
Today I did the big shop, once it was all put away, I cleared two patches of ground & sowed some wildflower seeds.
Grateful for seeing the enjoyment on Mum's face after having her finger nails painted for the first time in 20+ years, a sunny day to take photos of the bears I'd made having a 'picnic' in the garden, the anticipation of the wildflowers to come, our wedding anniversary tomorrow 😃Use it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃
