Hi datlex.
thrifty_taylor- why no mow May? My grass was ridiculously long and would have needed a strimmer not a mower if I'd left it until now. Does it help the grass?
1st day of the month and 1NSD.
I will set out a proper plan tomorrow but grateful today for a local mum passing on some clothes to DD, a lunchtime dog walk in the sun and someone sharing knowledge and giving advice freely.8 -
I am in a much brighter mood today...so far anyway. NSD yesterday, off to a good start. I had a very busy day at work, and also went to my meditation class and out for a small walk in the park to see the last of the sun. It was beautiful.
Gratitudes for yesterday:
- did not have a drink to soothe my anxiety
- the glory of the sunset and watching some fire jugglers in the park
- going back to my meditation / yoga group3-month emergency fund (Cash ISA & PBs): £4744/ £6,000
Stocks and shares ISA: £1497
Additional pension contributions £0
Overpayment on mortgage: £0

Thanks, F0xh0les. I try to meal plan as far as possible. In fact, another of my plans for this month is to use up the ridiculous amount of food we have in our freezer. My downfall is that I snack on crisps and chocolate. I'm one of those people who can't just eat one packet of crisps. I have to just keep on eating and eating them. And the odd gin or three is conducive to weight loss either. So, if I can knock those two bad habits on the head and be sensible otherwise it should give me a head start.
Thrifty, I'm still stuck here in Level 2 but needs must. We've been here for so long now another few weeks won't make much difference. At least Glasgow has been moved down to the same level so I can go to some of the lovely parks there for a walk. There aren't very many accessible parks around my way.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -

Today i am grateful on my ds1 and 2 behalf:
DS1 has decided to go to a top university for his nursing degree in big town, and I think he will succeed.
DS2 has learnt lessons: Lesson 1 lost phone, went to event lost and found and got phone back. Lesson 2 lost job, as showed up in wrong venue for the holiday club where he works, and they happily let him work all day, but it was the wrong location, so managers left angry messages on his phone and cancelled his contract. This morning he called job and got reinstated, and went off to work, and it seems lie he will be paid for the whole week. Lesson learnt - read the contract, never give up (don't be a teenager).
Me: grateful for getting my tyre fixed instead of needing a new one.
Isa help to buy: 400/3000 13%
Emergency fund: 100/1000 10%

Today I am grateful for dd waving me off from her window at 6.30 when I went to the gym, for finding her some lovely jeans in a charity shop, for two enjoyable walks, for washing drying outside, for the tennis, for nice neighbours.
