NST June 2021: Jolly simple

Today has been most simple, had my jab before 8.20 and drove home for a lovely cup of coffee (tasted nasty), and took 2 kids out to spend their loot on crisps and doughnuts in Mr T's Shopping Emporium of Food - got told off by dh for letting them buy utter carp - it will all be gone by lunchtime tomorrow and then they have spent their money, and as they have no more, will stop mithering me to take them to the cake shop every 3 seconds of every single day of my life.No spends = No buying stuff. Even they understand that one!Filled the car with petrol, bought a crate of soya milk, and the freezer has lots of nice things in it now. Also scored 2 veg boxes from Herr L, with two bouquets of asparagus, and two huge long punnets of strawberries, nectarines, apples, clementines, parsley, basil, peppers and potatoes. Strawbs are prepped and cut up in the fridge. Feeling simply virtuous! so I had a choc ice instead.
My ears are ringing, nothing tastes right, but I am happy and the kids are happy.
Still no NSDs yet, but fingers crossed for tomorrow.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Top-up shop today and renewed our energy contract since I couldn’t find a better deal. Well technically I could have, but for £2 extra I could remain with current supplier who is more environmentally friendly. Have also taken a new contract with a fibre broadband provider. Got a fixed rate deal for 18 months that is £2 less than our current contract with slower internet speed.Grateful today for another sunny day, tasty fajitas for dinner and a walk with a friend along the river this evening.

Morning all, ended up spending last night, as when filling in forms for DS going into 2nd year at secondary, there was an order form for a photo he'd had taken. Only bought one though.
Decided to do a beginner's yoga video, which I found a lot better, have repeated it today too. Already I'm finding my posture has improved slightly!
@facethemusic, No Mow May is to help the bees. By not cutting the grass, flowers are able to grow to give the early bees nectar. My grass was 6" @Toni'sfriend in places when I did cut it, but I raised the mower to its highest setting. Will lower it when I cut it next time.
@Toni'sfriend enjoy walking in the parks. We're very lucky to live in the countryside, but often forget how people in towns & cities don't have green spaces on their doorsteps.
Grateful for a colleague giving me a nice dress, a nap after work (shattered due to broken sleep), completing yogaUse it up, wear it out
Make do or do without!
If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours 😃

I think I almost did No Mow May too - but it wasn't intentional! Just that we'd had so much wet weather and the back garden gets so little sunshine that it was simply too wet to mow!Our final daffodil has stopped blooming now - do you think bees even know what daffs 'taste' like? They can't usually be out and about when daffs are usually flowering?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!7

NSD No 2
No snacking or alcohol yesterday and healthy meals. I've just had some strawberries and grapes for breakfast. I think having a little fruit for breakfast might be a good idea. Meals all planned for today and hopefully tomorrow.
Did the jobs that I planned yesterday and have a fair bit of decluttering planned for today. It might be a bit ambitious but some of it will be better than none of it.
It's certainly cooled down here today. In fact it's raining. Himself isn't out of bed yet so we probably won't manage a walk.
Himself had a telephone appointment with the consultant at the hospital yesterday. She's recommended some quite drastic (for him) lifestyle changes ie no alcohol, etc, etc, etc. No more than I expected, to be honest, but whether I can persuade him to take it on board is another thing. The one thing that did surprise me was that she said he should lose weight. He's a little "tubby" around the middle but otherwise he looks quite good. Well, maybe that will spur him on to join me in my quest for healthiness.
So I'm just going to finish my pot of tea and get on with it.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.9 -
