Has anyone tried the Barista premium instant coffee in Lidl?   It's £1.09 for 100g next weekend, the way coffee prices are going, might give it a try.
Its okay - Lidl's answer to Kenco Millicano I think - but I'm not struck on either. I prefer the Bellarom one:
Bellarom Gold Freeze-Dried Instant Coffee - at Lidl UK - wwwlidlcouk

I get the aldi version, alcafe gold roast, which is decent.

Thanks to Brie and Doc N

I think unfortunately it is likely to be too sweet for us.

Cracked it open last evening. It's not sweet at all, mostly citrusy. Not as dry as PG but very good.  Worth the price.

I've just made the mistake of buying Aldi's Grandessa Crunchy Maple & Pecan Peanut Butter:

    https://groceries.aldi.co.uk/en-GB/p-grandessa-crunchy-maple-pecan-peanut-butter-180g/4088600449609

What a strange product. It's ridiculously runny (unexpectedly) such that I spilled a load of it when opening the jar. The taste is pretty grim too. One for the bin I think.
Oh no, accidentally clicked away from the page and when I got back my answer had gone.  Was trying to say that I love the smooth or crunchy PB from Aldi which is just peanuts.  It's oily so I just stir it first time then keep it in the fridge - sometimes upside down  But remember to turn it the right way up for a few moments before opening.  Lovely stuff, I find any other far too sweet and full of addititves of one kind or another.   This maple pecan one has a lot of sugar so probably not to my taste.

I never quite 'get' binning food just because people don't like it.  There's always something you can do to use it up like the recipe already mentioned which sounds gorgeous.  Or give it away.

I don't understand people throwing away cooked food or unused veg - we are having braising steak with carrots & sprouts in beer in the slow cooker as OH didn't finish his beer last night and I wasn't going to throw it away so did a quick change of menu, the uncooked sprouts and carrots were left over from a roast dinner.
I do understand binning something that you've tried and don't like (e.g. peanut butter).
I bought some black cherry jam to add to my porridge or have on toast and it's not as tart as I'd like.
It's been sat in the fridge since autumn and it's putting me off having porridge because I don't fancy the jam.
I'm not sure what to do with it - I'm not a baker and we don't like sweet stuff anyway.
The 2 people I've offered it to have declined.

That's good to know @Cornucopia. The Slimwell curry was quite good before so genuinely improved is excellent. 😋

It's OK but personally I'd prefer to pay a bit more for a Gold Blend or Douwe Egberts.

That's a very good price though. I do use Lidl decaff from time to time and I think that's a bit more than £1.09

It's nice to be able to report (for a change) on a product that's not only still the same price, but also has a genuinely improved recipe...

Aldi "Slim Free" Chicken Tikka Masala - this is just chicken in a curry sauce, but the chicken has been improved and now consists of a number of large pieces of nicely marinated chicken - bigger than previously.

Aldi "Slim Free" Chicken Saag - this has the same upgraded chicken pieces as above, and the spinach-based sauce is also improved, too.
Never seen them, are they chilled, jar/can, or frozen please?

They are frozen.   They are like the Iceland/Slimming World dishes - large portions (450-500g), low fat and low calorie.   £1.99

Seems they may now be Slim Well not Slim Free...
