Have aldi stopped selling pitta breads?  There isn't even a space for them in the shops and they are not showing online.

I couldn't buy any there or at lidl last week.  Had to buy wraps and be a bit creative!

At least at Lidl there is a shelf for them, even though it is empty.  At Aldi, nothing!

I bought pitta bread in Lidl last week (seemed like it could be a new brand).   But they haven't had wraps (and neither have Aldi) for several weeks.

Lidl still doesn't have its own brand ketchup, but the pesto is back in stock.

Over the past few months I've been experimenting with different brands and types of bread flour for my Panasonic bread making machine. Aldi's basic strong white flour has proved to be very good - in fact as good as any and very cheap.

In recent weeks though, my local Aldi has had no stock, nor space for it on the shelf. I've just checked Aldi's site and it's not even listed now, so it would seem it has been dropped. Curiously. Aldi's yeast (a steal at 59p and clearly identical to all the other brands, which can sometimes cost more than twice Aldi's price) is still available.

I'm an Aldi fan but I do wish they wouldn't do this sort of thing. You find a product that you like and then it just disappears. .

Completely agree with that sentiment. I still mourn some great Thai fishcakes that Aldi used to sell.

But surely the shortage of bread flour has more to do with grain from Eastern Europe than Aldi's policy? 🤔

I found the wraps in Aldi - they had moved them from the pre-packed bread area to the part-baked & ethnic bread area.

I suppose these days, it's easy to assume that when something disappears it's down to supply issues, when the answer may actually be a bit closer to home.

Not likely - it's too early in the year to be producing anything wheat based from this year's harvest in Ukraine and the rest.  The majority will be from wheat reserves from last year or from the southern hemisphere.

I wondered if it was a strategy to avoid shortages and higher prices later. Friends tell me that things like pitta bread are hard to get too. 🤔
