I was at RHS Hyde Hall this weekend, there were blackberries galore along the walk from the overflow car park to the entrance, not particularly huge but all at a good height and away from the usual sources of air pollution. I hope someone enjoys them! Had they been away from human traffic, I would have come equipped with Tupperware 😁

It stays on for a few seconds although there is a switch for different settings and requires no charging, just 3xAA batteries a piece. (Non-rechargeable batteries are not recommended). Its actually quite sensitive to low level light, its grotty and wet here today and they lit up when I passed them at 8:30am.

I don't expect to save money but to prevent an accident through this purchase. The batteries should last me through winter at least.

I csn recommend them too I have two on the floor that light my way to the bathroom in the night without disturbing Hubby , they come on just long enough and are a pleasant warm glow.

Lidl's Deluxe Roasted Pistachio Ice Cream (£2.69 / ?480ml tub) is a far superior product to some of the premium brands, and half the price.

Our Aldi is doing groundwork for a Deposit Refund Recycling centre. Apparently this is in preparation for a government scheme in 2027.

Bottle recycling. I will have to take my bottles into town instead of putting them out for the council to collect. More difficulty for those that do recycle with nothing changing for the chavs that dump them in the streets. Loss of income for councils as they have reduced volumes of glass to sell. The government harp on about the success in other countries but those countries where it is successful have completely different schemes.

Both our Aldi and Lidl have had the buildings all set up, ready to go and sitting idle for a couple of years now after the Scottish government failed to take account of the law before jumping in and spending loads of other people's money. Aldi not happy because they are moving store and have got to build a new one for that.
