Anyone prepared to pay MB prices must have more money than sense! It goes straight down the drain after all.Katiehound said:recently I noticed that Aldi's luxury handwash (or whatever they call it!) has gone up in price considerably.
Today I looked closely: now 500ml not 300ml as it used to be, so possibly not that much of an increase
Still copies of Moulton Brown at almost 1/20th of their price : £1.09 compared with £20!!
Choices are:
Rhubarb & rose
Cypress & sea fennel
Orange & bergamot
White MulberryNo man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.1 -
Same goes for the Jo Malone copies. I'm perfectly happy with my Aldi candles and reed diffuser. And I have the Scarlet Roses (Jo Malone's are red 😉) eau de toilette which is just as good.Rosa_Damascena said:

I don't know whether it's new or not (might be), but Aldi have Apple & Pear Barley Squash, which is delicious.
No added sugar, 1L, 85p.5 -
Felt like there were steep increases whilst shopping this week. I know it's a random item but a bag of frozen potato wedges which was 69p is now 99p. Frozen burgers are now £2.49 but have been £1.99 for many many years.
Fresh meat at least seems to be bucking the price rise, chicken is up in price slightly from the lows last year but everything else feels fairly stable in price.
Our store is having terrible fresh produce supplies though with no tomatoes, lettuce, bagged salad today. Was the same in Morrisons though!1 -
A lot of our fresh stuff comes from Spain, I believe the Spanish lorry drivers dispute and the loss of P&O ferries has made a significant dent in supplies from that country...robrymond said:Felt like there were steep increases whilst shopping this week. And the delays caused by Brexit continue to make the problems still worse, both for exports and imports. Those promised sunlit uplands were just one of Johnson’s many, many lies.harz99 said:

Can we just stick to the thread title please?
@Cornucopia - the pear flavour was around last year. I'm not a fan of squashes but diluting it with tonic water made it slightly more palatable (to me).No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Thanks - I've been buying the Peach flavour (also nice), and the Summer Fruits but hadn't noticed the Apple & Pear. Yes - I can see it going nicely with Tonic Water.Rosa_Damascena said:@Cornucopia - the pear flavour was around last year. I take your point. It's difficult as politics, particularly at the moment, crosses into food prices and availability. But I think stock availability in general is relevant for discussion.Rosa_Damascena said:Can we just stick to the thread title please?

The shortages of things like broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce are mainly down to the appalling weather in one of the major agricultural areas of Spain.
Lots of other crops are very badly affected.
Nothing to do with Brexit.
Read all about it here.
