Good and Bad Buys at Lidl and Aldi stores (***Please don't expire***)

This weekend's Super Weekend products at Lidl's include the "Premium Fruit & Nut Muesli".
The illustration shows this has 50% dried fruit, nuts & seeds, which is the description on the last pack I bought.
In store today the percentage is 49%. Does this make it more or less "premium"?

One thing I know is that whenever I see a product I usually buy with a 'new' label on I just assume it's a cost-cutting measure and either a smaller pack and/or reformulated using cheaper ingredients. Especially when it specifically says 'new' and not 'new and improved'.General_Grant said:This weekend's Super Weekend products at Lidl's include the "Premium Fruit & Nut Muesli".

I noticed Lidl has changed its light mayo but I haven't opened the bottle yet so not sure if it's different in consistency or taste.5 -
Where I live Aldi and Lidl are almost the same distance from my house but in opposite directions, so it's a bit of a faff I wanted to shop at both in one journey. I know Aldi sell some good stuff that Lidl doesn't and vice versa. Maybe one day Lidl and Aldi will merge and we'll get the best of both..Brie said:
The Lidl bakery is rather alluring. We use both as we've discovered things in each that we like - Lidl coffee, Aldi wine etc.S_uk said:I've only shopped at Aldi a few times, mostly because Lidl is very slightly closer to me where I live, plus the Lidl app and bakery. I guess I might try Aldi one week for my shop and if the stock is better in that store then I might as well switch.0 -
Just an observation here I’ve noticed my Aldi doesn’t stock coffee beans lots of roast and ground but no beans and they don’t seem to do a curry paste like Lidl do either.0

This might sound a little weird given that we're having to watch expenditure so carefully...but is it just me that now finds shopping at Lidl in particular to be monotonous? My trips there are perfunctory with no reason to browse. It feels like there is a lack of variety / interesting new products at affordable prices.
Whereas other supermarkets have plenty of interesting things at prices I am not prepared to pay. Am I wanting to have my cake and eat it too?No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.4 -
I agree food and non food, I am never tempted by anything in middle of Lidl but Aldi gets me every time! Aldi just needs a Lidl type bakery!Rosa_Damascena said:This might sound a little weird given that we're having to watch expenditure so carefully...but is it just me that now finds shopping at Lidl in particular to be monotonous? Lidl type bakery? No thanks - it’s reduced the range of bakery goods available by replacing them with much more expensive (and profitable) alternatives. Happy with Aldi the way it is.sammyjammy said:
