I've never been a foodie but am bored eating the same old stuff and would like to see a lot more variety in the fruit and veg section.
Variety costs more.  You can get loads of different fruit and veg at other shops, but Lidl won't sell anything unless they can undercut the others on price.
My main Aldi this morning had loads of variety in veg/salad/fruit, sounds like maybe Rosa should jump ship to Aldi for fresh stuff...
You're right. There is a larger Aldi that sells more stuff, but I tend to stop by only on my commute back if it is still open. (Closes at 10pm but tends not to have that much available after 8pm).
No man is worth crawling on this earth.

So much to read, so little time.

This is a warning for anyone buying the Italiamo pizza flour from Lidl. Bought some today, the bag weighs 1kg apparently. Got it home read the instructions, used 500g of flour, then thought I would weight the remainder - 332g.
That is a big difference, pretty unacceptable IMHO. The bag wasn't part filled either.
I am going to complain on Monday because that is out of order.
If it's not a Lidl product then that might be the reason they are in Lidl at a reduced price, the packets are underfilled
Someone please tell me what money is

This weekend's Super Weekend products at Lidl's include the "Premium Fruit & Nut Muesli".

The illustration shows this has 50% dried fruit, nuts & seeds, which is the description on the last pack I bought.

In store today the percentage is 49%.  Does this make it more or less "premium"?

One thing I know is that whenever I see a product I usually buy with a 'new' label on I just assume it's a cost-cutting measure and either a smaller pack and/or reformulated using cheaper ingredients. Especially when it specifically says 'new' and not 'new and improved'.

I noticed Lidl has changed its light mayo but I haven't opened the bottle yet so not sure if it's different in consistency or taste.
I bought a bottle of Lidl's light mayo, I usually buy the dark blue top version, a few weeks ago and it was runnier that the last time I had to buy the light Mayo.
Someone please tell me what money is

You're replying to a month old post which the OP hasn't followed up...and if the pack is labelled 1kg it is illegal to sell it if known to be underweight, reduced price or not...

Has anybody seen Almat washing tablets in Aldi recently? This sort of thing:

    https://groceries.aldi.co.uk/en-GB/p-almat-laundry-tablets-non-bio-18-washes-36-pack/25301885

(there are several different types). Or perhaps they've been discontinued?

Sounds like "light" was made "extra light" through dilution :)

I've not looked recently, as I'm still working through a large backlog that I got - they disappeared off the shelves round our way a couple of years ago, and then reappeared after abotu a year, at which point I bought up a whole load of boxes. I'm on my last one now, so will be disappointed if they've stopped doing them again.

recently I noticed that Aldi's luxury handwash (or whatever they call it!) has gone up in price considerably.
Today I looked closely: now 500ml not 300ml as it used to be, so possibly not that much of an increase

Still copies of Moulton Brown  at  almost 1/20th  of their price : £1.09 compared with  £20!!
    Choices are:
     Rhubarb & rose
    Cypress & sea fennel
    Orange & bergamot
    White Mulberry

Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

No ordinary salad tomatoes in either of the Aldi and Lidl stores I've been in this morning, just Diddy ones and expensive Vine ones.
    Was the same last week...

Same locally too. I think it must be a supplier problem as there were plenty in Sainsbury's.
