Went to one of my local Aldi's on Friday, no frozen chicken breasts, went to the other Aldi near me today, same no chicken, also holes on the fresh produce racks, tried the nearby Lidl and got 3 packs out of the 11 on sale plus a pack of tomatoes from the half box of those, again big gaps on the fresh produce shelves.1

Tomatoes very low at my Aldi last weekend but plenty of fresh chicken(didn't look for frozen). 🤔1

I think we'll see a lot more unions flexing their muscle - just like the companies exploiting the situation to rise prices they'll use it to improve pay and conditions at the expense of everyone else.3 -
That of course explains the lack of tomatoes and dearth of Spanish fruit, I won't buy Egyptian, Morrocan etc. as the fruit is never good quality. South African grapes are good (just avoid Eastern Cape), as are Cyprus oranges and of course British apples...

Lidl has won the basic shopping basket of the month comp, closely followed by Aldi.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
So much to read, so little time.3 -
I mentioned a few pages back about not seeing sardines in tomato sauce in my Lidl for for a while, well I still haven't and it must be well over a month now. I know some other posters said they hadn't had any trouble getting them. I don't even know why my store still has the shelf label still there when clearly they're not getting the product delivered for whatever reason. Doesn't matter what time I go shopping either.
There's been discussion on a one of the Lidl facebook groups about products that have been unavailable for a while, and going back to the sardines example some others mentioned they haven't had it them in their stores either. Some mentioned that they think it's issues in the regional distribution centres with some areas getting some products and some not.
Maybe Lidl doesn't think people in my region likes sardines!1 -

S_uk said:I've only shopped at Aldi a few times, mostly because Lidl is very slightly closer to me where I live, plus the Lidl app and bakery. I guess I might try Aldi one week for my shop and if the stock is better in that store then I might as well switch.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
