Am I the only one who is concerned about the jobs of store staff if we all go to self serve tills?  Granted I've never managed to use one without store assistance.....
In the next town to us there are 2 branches of Lidl.  One has self service tills the other doesnt.  The problem with the latter is that there aren’t anything like enough staff, the queues are horrendous.  As for finding  a member of staff if you have a query, forget it.  Funnily enough the one with self service tills has enough staff to man the ordinary tills.   Bizarre

If anyone hears/sees that Lidl has their frozen potato/veg/duck (gizzards & smoked meat) packs again please let me know.  We had one that had broccoli and peas as I recall and it was good.  Had the second one earlier this week which had green beans and it was excellent.  I doubt they will have anything like it in before Christmas due to all the seasonal fare but one i'll be looking for in the new year!

  • Are the loo roll vultures back? Lidl only had branded loo roll and their own 9 aloe Vera packs which are on super weekend offer.

Didnt look down the loo roll section at work.

Aldi this morning had the fresh brussel sprout stems in at 95p a go, doubtless that'll come down when the price wars start.

ALDI Holly Lane Deep Fill Mince Pies already dropped 79p to 49p for a pack of 6 (!) Normally, that's nearer to the big day!

These are the cheaper ones that you might have for breakfast?

I know - we all have our preferences!  OH was horrified that I had the bubble and squeak that came with the veggie special when we were out for breakfast the other day.  (also horrified I didn't get the large reg breakfast so he could steal my excess sausages).  The B&S was fine and certainly much nicer than the raw shredded cabbage my oldest brother has taken to eating instead of muesli (yes with fruit and yoghurt.)
