Yes - i suspect they will want to know if the whole batch was bad rather than just an individual pack. Of course they will only know if others tell them.PLRFD said:I got another email asking for lots of information all of which I had given them apart from a picture of the barcode will update when I receive another reply.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. My local Lidl has just got new self-service tills. They've obviously been given the latest software as they are extremely fast (especially compared to older tills in other Lidls, which were extremely slow).
With a basket or box full of groceries and another box to put them in, you can scan as fast as Lidl staff do on the main tills, which is great.1 -
Do you put the box in the "bagging area" and then have to get a staff member to authorise its use before you start scanning - or do you stack and move things to the box only after you have paid?Cornucopia said:My local Lidl has just got new self-service tills. I pressed the "Use own bag" button, and then put the empty box in the packing area - didn't need staff approval. Then I just grabbed stuff from the box on the right, scanned, and put it straight into the box on the left.General_Grant said:

One impressive thing was that I scanned a small trolley of stuff without needing any staff intervention at all.
I already had two boxes in my trolley, so was ready to go.2 -
But anything with a sticker needs a supervisor to authorise. So worth bunching them together to get them out of the way.Cornucopia said:My local Lidl has just got new self-service tills. I hardly ever buy stickered stuff, but that sounds like a good plan. I guess the same thing applies to Alcohol and other age-restricted stuff.Rosa_Damascena said:

Am I the only one who is concerned about the jobs of store staff if we all go to self serve tills? Granted I've never managed to use one without store assistance.....I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. I've carried out an ongoing one woman (although I suspect I'm not alone) campaign against self service. That's not just in Lidl but in banks and anywhere else I have an option.Brie said:Am I the only one who is concerned about the jobs of store staff if we all go to self serve tills? Unfortunately it's doomed to fail. In our city centre Lidl store, they frequently don't have a staffed check out open.3 -
I took a bite of the standard Lidl cheese and onion quiche today. I like neither egg nor onion, which is just as well as this tasted of nothing. No man is worth crawling on this earth.
