Just remembered their (Aldi's own) baked beans are on some kind of promo.
Bought x 4 tins for a neighbour- £1.64 & it deducted 15 pence at the till.
I love cranberry sauce- it goes rather nicely with chicken, ham, pork... etc especially @ 29 pence per jar!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

So much to read, so little time.4 -
Disappointing at my local Aldi today, absolutely no discernable reductions on any Christmas goods, other than some of the chilled Christmas meat items at end of life at 30% off.2

Today in ALDI I found a lonely jar of specially selected spiced plum & blackberry chutney- nice find for 49 pence!
I then found a couple of jars of onion ? marmalade- again mixed in with something else.- different scenario 'though, about £1.50, so I politely declined!
They still haven't sorted out some of the oddments but there is hardly anything left which is not surprising since many Christmas lines were reduced early by small amounts.
Still quite a few jars of Bramwell cranberry @ 19 pence & specially selected @ 29 pence- both with bb dates of summer 26Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

As I am minding mum & she loves a whiz around Aldi, I shall challenge her to spot the cranberry jars & invent things I can cook therewith. (Youngest off with brother on holiday, so my chef has deserted me!)1

A friend told me that long ago she used to bake cranberry muffins which had cranberry sauce in them. I haven't heard back if she has found the recipe! I'm sure it must be easy to swirl the sauce through the mix?
One of my friends says she often put cranberry sauce into a casserole as it makes the gravy very rich.
I have plenty of jars (yummy) so if anyone has an easy cake recipe please write it down!Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

There's lots of game recipes that have fruit in them - rabbit cooked with apricots is nice so not surprised your friend puts some sauce in casseroles. I did have a recipe somewhere for 3 bird roast that included cranberries too.
And you could use the sauce instead of jam for making "thimbles".Peanut Butter and Jam Thimbles
2 very ripe bananas (the riper the sweeter)
2 tablespoons of peanut butter (add a bit more if you use chunky but do go for the cheap stuff if poss)
1 cup (250 ml) oatmeal
Mush all together. Make into 16 balls on a greased cookie sheet and stick your thumb in the middle of each to form a hole.
Bake 350F for 15 minutes (less for fan assisted)
Remove from oven and immediately drop a small blob of jam into each hole.
Best eaten warm but also not bad cold.

Thanks @Brie
This morning I made a carrot, orange & cranberry cake!
Used a carrot cake recipe but only half the grated carrot & added almost a whole jar of sauce. I mixed most of the sauce in the mix & swirled the remainder between top & bottom 'half'of mix. Was really good. Next time I will try to put pretty much all the sauce swirled between top & bottom layers so it has a baked-in fruity filling.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Went to Lidl today and saw the big poster outside promoting their "Spin and Win" thingy, noticed that it said that 1 in 10 would win a £10 voucher. Walked past it, thinking, absolutely no chance. I don't have luck like that.
Just did the Spin and Win and actually won a £10 voucher!!!
