Just remembered their (Aldi's own) baked beans are on some kind of promo.
Bought x 4 tins for a neighbour- £1.64 & it deducted 15 pence at the till.

I love cranberry sauce- it goes rather nicely with chicken, ham, pork... etc especially @ 29 pence per jar!

Today, Lidl large gift wrapped Pannetone, reduced to £2.
I went in today to use up a f&v coupon and looked at the shelf. Everything visibly Christmas was reduced to 50p, regardless of size. All the large panettone and stollens had gone, but I did pick up some marzipan bites. There were also plenty of marzipan bars (I seem to remember there is a fan on this thread?) and bags of lebkuchen. I tipped the marzipan bites into my candy bowl and couldn't resist trying one - it was like a grown up mini milky way and surprisingly almond-y.

Disappointing at my local Aldi today, absolutely no discernable reductions on any Christmas goods, other than some of the chilled Christmas meat items at end of life at 30% off.

Today in ALDI  I found a lonely jar of specially selected spiced plum & blackberry chutney- nice find for 49 pence!
I then found a couple of jars of onion ? marmalade- again mixed in with something else.- different scenario 'though, about £1.50, so I politely declined!

They still haven't sorted out some of the oddments but there is hardly anything left which is not surprising since many Christmas lines were reduced early by small amounts.

Still quite a few jars of Bramwell cranberry @ 19 pence & specially selected @ 29 pence- both with bb dates of summer 26

As I am minding mum & she loves a whiz around Aldi, I shall challenge her to spot the cranberry jars & invent things I can cook therewith. (Youngest off with brother on holiday, so my chef has deserted me!)

A friend told me that long ago she used to bake cranberry muffins which had cranberry sauce in them. I haven't heard back if she has found the recipe!  I'm sure it must be easy to swirl the sauce through the mix?

One of my friends says she often put cranberry sauce into a casserole as it makes the gravy very rich.

I have plenty of jars (yummy) so if anyone has an easy cake recipe please write it down!

    Thanks @Brie

This morning I made a carrot, orange & cranberry cake!
Used a carrot cake recipe but only half the grated carrot & added almost a whole jar of sauce. I mixed most of the sauce in the mix & swirled the remainder between top & bottom 'half'of mix. Was really good. Next time I will try to put pretty much all the sauce swirled between top & bottom layers so it has a baked-in fruity filling.

Eaten all your Christmas chocs? Can’t wait for Easter eggs? Well good news! Aldi has filled that gap -

Christmas  Easter  Chris-ter eggs are here
I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.
