apologies @Brie - you've already posted on previous thread page!

No problem - I was repeating it from another thread - the more that find out about this the better!!!
Lucky you did repeat it as my thread was moved to the lesser used voucher forum, where I expect it many people like myself never check.

Thanks @Brie for the voucher tip - I stocked up on all the essentials for the next 3 months and am happy with that.

There's another voucher floating around today for a free croissant. The code is FOOTBALL. There's a limited quantity but it was working a few minutes ago.

Aldi caramel Choceur is a nice product, not too sicky. Looks like it has been voted Product of The Year in Oz:

Be very careful with the discount offers in Aldi.
If you use the self scan checkouts the discount is not taken off automatically.
You have to summon a member of staff to manually take off the discount on each stickered product.

In Lidl the reductions are taken off when you scan the orange sticker, only once have I scanned the orange label and being charged the full price and that was because the barcode for the original price was partly showing next to the reduced price sticker it must have scanned to other bar cde and not the reduced price bar code.
Someone please tell me what money is

Had a bit of luck at Lidl....picked up a nice chonky SA white wine but couldn't find any price label.  So I thought if it turned out to be one of their extra special ones at £13 I'd say no but if it was £7-8 that was fine.  13.5% alchohol content so it wasn't going to be a cheap one.  Got to the till and when scanned nothing came up.  So someone was called to look for the price and I thus help up the queue for a good 5 minutes.  Chap finally came over with something that had a black label and a black cap same as my bottle and said "they've obviously changed the packaging so just scan this."  And "this" was £3.49.  So half the price I was expecting.  I might have said something but only discovered this when I checked the receipt.

    To add to this -
The full price is displayed first and only when you place the item "in the bagging area" does the discount appear on screen.  What appears on-screen and on the receipt is the full price and then the discount.

[I remember the first time I was self-scanning a reduction.  I held onto the product and called an assistant only to find the reduction appeared when she placed the item in the bagging area.]
