    I've been disappointed with how few plants have been on sale in Aldi this summer. They've usually been good for some cheap and cheerful colour. This year they had very little and very limited variety. ☹️

    I ended up in the local garden centre. I do love my black petunias but not the price. 😁
    I love a black flower: tulip, rose, petunia...bring it on! Pics?

    They are a purple variety but black enough. 😊

    Pleased to find a malted bloomer loaf in Lidl, any malted bread is almost impossible to find locally - if one Tesco fresh bakery don't have it there hasn't been an alternative.

    Dissapointingly, the malted taste is really weak, but absolutely lovely texture, one slice with some fruit for breakfast is very filling, so I'd be happy to make a special trip to get this.

    @maman - beautiful!

    Am tempted to ask what you are going to do with your Hidcote? Are you going to spilt and propagate? I have similar that is starting to outgrow its container and would like to turn this into multiple bushy plants rather than the single stringy specimen I have at the moment. Incredibly I have managed to kill lavender before :(

    I've killed lavenders before too, Rosa. Actually I think some of them just wanted to die... The suicidal ones should be labelled as such and go on the cheapo shelf imo, cos at least then you'd not put so much effort into them.

    The painkillers/hayfever tablet thing. It's not A Thing. I bought 2 boxes of each yesterday and the computer let them through. So I asked the checkout woman why I couldn't do it last week and she had no idea. I couldn't remember who'd served me, naturally, so that's the end of that.

    I bought a 3 pack from either Aldi or Lidl and they were doing fine 'til I repotted them. Now I'm waiting on them fully dying so I don't feel guilty binning something that might still be a bit alive ha haa!

    The £2.49 pots of mini-roses are back at Lidl, and very pretty they are too. I bought 2 to replace the 2 I inadvertently killed by overwatering. I'm going to repot them and let them do their own thing.

    Yes, these are no houseplants.

    Although I've managed to lose on already (was happy to gift it to my Mum).
