I got a load of 1Kg packs of chicken breasts with 30% off and a 2Kg pack with 60% off as well as a gammon joint at 60% off this Sunday. I'm the first person in Lidl when it opens at 09:30 and at the checkout by 09:50 waiting to pay for what I bought. They put the 2Kg chicken pack through at the full price so I pointed out the mistake before I paid for the shopping as I always know how much I'm paying before I get to the checkout.
Someone please tell me what money is

The £2.49 pots of mini-roses are back at Lidl, and very pretty they are too. I bought 2 to replace the 2 I inadvertently killed by overwatering. I'm going to repot them and let them do their own thing.
    any good for outdoors?
We went to stay in a cottage on a farm in Wiltshire. The farmer's wife had put a potted mini rose within a small gift bag so it hid the pot, and put it on a dressing table in the bedroom. It lasted extremely well throughout the week.

Whilst I like shopping in Aldi, I don't understand why their large plant pots are so expensive. I cannot spend over £10 on a container made out of plastic!

Pleased to find a malted bloomer loaf in Lidl, any malted bread is almost impossible to find locally

Both of the Aldi's near us always have loads of own-brand malted bloomers.  It's my favourite loaf of all - better than any of the well-known brands or any other own-label brands.  We shop at both Lidl and Aldi, but I'll always go to Aldi for the bread.  Might be worth a look if you've got one near you.

  • Lidls' Grapevine Cabernet Sauvignon is a very nice wine for  ..... £4.09!!! I'm no expert but I've had wine from a lot of different retailers and this is extremely drinkable. I was left a bottle in an AirBnB and couldn't believe it was such a cheapy from Lidl.

Once upon a time I felt exactly the same way.  Over the years that changed, though, and there are very few whites I'd touch.
