Foes anone recommend Aldi / Lidl's own dishwasher tablets? I have been using Finish as per the manufacturer's instructions, but they leave a taste in my plastic saucepans (I use these in the microwave to super-heat milk). The Finish product I am using at the moment is a capsule but the old tablets had the same results:

Aldi dishwasher tablets are excellent.
And an excellent price.
Unfortunately as with lots of products in Aldi they can be out of stocks for many weeks.

I'm happy with Aldi tablets but Lidl are excellent. As well as the tablets, I use their dishwasher salt and rinse aid.
I wash a plastic microwave saucepan and other plastic containers like jugs and freezer boxes in the dishwasher and never been aware of any taste from washing.4 -
Thank you, I'll give it a go. Tablets have the advantage that they can be halved so I have somewhere to go if this persists.
I think part of the problem is that I wash everything up before it goes in the DW. I run it once a week (full to capacity, usually containing at least 35 mugs) and cannot bear the smell of anything untoward. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

I buy Lidls. I know exactly what you mean about the taste left from Finish. A year or so back I 'discovered' Aldi Specially Selected Salmon en Croutes, which were yummy. I bought them two or three times over successive weeks and haven't seen them since. Anybody had sight of them lately? I'm in the North East, but have spot checked several stores in the area occasionally in the interim to no avail.
Edit: The site says 'out of stock', which probably answers my question, but the button/label is greyed out so not sure whether that means it is or it isn't.0 -
It is frustrating when you find something you like, buy it regularly, and then it gets pulled from the shelves. I can’t help with the salmon en croute but I’m having a similar bugbear with the Gianni’s Mini Viennese Ice Creams (think vienetta on a stick). I’m hoping they’ve just been taken off rotation for winter and they will reappear come summer - but I think that might be wistful thinking seeing as all of the other other cones and lollies are still currently available. I like the fact that these are pre-portioned because if I bought a whole vienetta I’d probably eat half of it in one sitting 🫢2

It's possible that the salmon end croute was on for the Christmas season and might be back at Easter? 🤔1

That is the downside of Aldi and Lidl being so focussed on price - in a lot of cases, they would rather delist a product than put the price up.1

They do peppered salami at under a pound a pack - my local Asda has crept up to £1.50. Subject to Youngest's approval (he eats it), I may bulk buy at Aldi & hope he doesn't bulk eat...3
