Good and Bad Buys at Lidl and Aldi stores (***Please don't expire***)

I looked at the wording and it said "free coupon" for a bakery item. I presumed that to mean the usual disappointing 20% off something I wouldn't have ordinarily bought,Cornucopia said:Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but Lidl's Spin of Surprises this month is a free bakery item with every purchase. Each win is a voucher for a specific item.No man is worth crawling on this earth.

It's a voucher for a completely free item of their choice. (They did a similar promotion before).Rosa_Damascena said:

I had a free Pain au Choc and a free mini Veggie Pizza. I have a free Belgian Bun voucher awaiting a trip to the store.2 -
Missed out on my free Doughnut this week (plus a voucher for next week and using some other vouchers) as their "internet" was down and so Lidl Plus wasn't working, They weren't prepared to honour the vouchers they could see on peoples phones - I can understand that as you could just go and use the voucher at another store.Cornucopia said:

Definitely something faulty as you could only pay by chip and pin or cash, contactless or google wallet/ apple pay wasn't working either for anyone.1 -
It's a great way to lure you to the store even if you don't need anything. A "free" donut costs them a sale of 50p or whatever but you're likely to spend another £10+ on other tat too. I'm trying to resist. I don't need free cakes (as much as I like them) and don't want to purchase too much stuff as the cupboards are already pretty full.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Would many people go to Aldi/Lidl just for a free donut or cake?Brie said:It's a great way to lure you to the store even if you don't need anything. I wouldn't.
I go to Aldi when I need something, usually about every 2-3 weeks.
OH does the big & heavy shop at Tesco.3 -
Well when there's a Aldi and a Lidl almost next door to each other and you are on your way to work and need a sandwich you might choose Lidl if there was a freebie. Truthfully I'm normally in a Lidl about 3 times a week. Aldi about once every other month. Just due to L's being more convenient to work and home.Pollycat said:

I don't work - I'm retired - and I always put my own sandwiches up when I did work.Brie said:

The scanner was broken at the till I visited last week - they took my mobile number and it registered and I got the free bakery item.0

Is anyone else having problems getting ordinary eggs in Aldi, my local one has only had the expensive free range variety for at least two weeks now?
Please, no debates on the merits of free range or otherwise, this isn't the place.2
