Good and Bad Buys at Lidl and Aldi stores (***Please don't expire***)

Fresh double cream...unless you use it all at once, dont buy from Aldi, (not sure about Lidl). We use mostly in coffee, so need it to last a few days. Seems to curdle in coffee after a day or 2; I have it do the same on opening, within use by, or best by date. Not off, just looks horrible so can be used in other things, but lumpy. We get it now from closest s'markets, Asda & Morrisons.2

Two Pastel de Nata tarts yesterday from Lidl. Price creeping up. Originally 49p now 59p. Last year in Lidl France they were 49 cents so even cheaper.1

FYI - it's been reported locally (Dorset) that Aldi has joined "to good to go". So if you have the app they may have £10 worth of almost best before for £3.50.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe and Old Style Money Saving boards. Katiehound said:check this out, in Aldi yesterday:
chicken legs- bone in skin on: £1.99 per kilo
boned, skinned chicken thighs; £5+ per kilo!
I don't quite understand how some skin & bone more than doubles the price. needless to say bought the cheaper version.
I couldn't see bone in, skin on chicken thighs which I usually buy for slow cooker but maybe that was me!
My mother used to debone chicken thighs she never bought the deboned option and saved pounds buying the boned thighs plus she used to make a stock out of the bones.Someone please tell me what money is0 -

That's the one and only thing I like about our local Lidl; the huge amount of reductions. I think I've only paid full price for meat once in the last year. I don't think our branch is very popular, especially with a big Tesco store across the road from it, and only having an ever decreasing range of products. I think many would struggle to do a full weekly shop there, even more so with all the empty shelves from such poor stock control, somewhere along the chain of command. All these failures must effect the footfall, but that just increases the amount of yellow stickered items in the chillers. I've even been known to go in, see a shelf full of yellow stickers, and decide to leave shopping until the day after, knowing that there will be even bigger 'clearance' discounts available.Christmas eve was the best. With so much stock dated 26th (boxing day), there were so many bargains I couldn't keep up. I'd already picked up a couple of fresh turkey crowns for £2 each. I was about to get some cheap mince, when I noticed whole legs of lamb being reduced to £2. People were putting 3 or 4 in their trolleys. Sadly my freezer was quite full, so I had to limit myself to 2.Planning another visit on Sunday, which is often a good day for yellow stickers there.Someone please tell me what money is0

I often buy single cream and it keeps in the fridge for over a week once opened if sealed. No man is worth crawling on this earth.

Due to dry January I did not qualify for the 10% off a shop of £250. I notice they hiked up the £200 to £250 last September, so what with that, and getting 10% instead of £10, Lidl not doing a lot to help struggling families and hard up pensioners!2

Went in my local Lidl this morning, saw a pack of cooked meat 30% off, looked at the date, it was 11.02.23. I handed it to a member of staff and told her it was out of date as it's 14th today. She said that's why it's got 30% off. I said no, it's still supposed to be in date. Another member of staff asked about it and told her she was wrong, it should not be on sale.1
