I usually go to Lidl as that is my local store. They have 30% off, a few days before the date.
So, is this normal for Aldi?
I picked up a 1.5KG joint of Pork loin tonight for £3.87 instead of £7.74 and some tempura chicken for £1.38.2 -
Thanks for the replies.
Either each store is different or maybe it's because this store just had quite a large extension which needs to be paid for. LOL2 -
Only ever seem to see 30% off in local Aldi- seems to be the norm- and that on the date, not before.Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Used to be 50% but went down to 30% & has been like that for a long time now.
Maybe it depends how much actual wastage there is at the end of the day?
If it gets sold at 30% then so be it!
(Just here Aldi is the best value supermarket- compared with Morrisons & Coop- so the turnover is probably pretty high- other large s.m are a minimum of 24 miles round trip)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Getting a bit fed up with the number of broken flowers in a bunch of flowers. They must be handled quite roughly in transit and I also notice that some flowers have been deliberately deadheaded. I think I will purchase them from Tesco from now on. They are often the a comparable price.3

Thanks for the heads up @thriftytracey - I get flowers for mum at Aldi in Oxford & so far they've been excellent, but caution is rarely wasted.

So much to read, so little time.5 -
I forgot to add it was Lidl with the broken flower stems and heads. I buy them once a fortnight - they last ages with a small drop of bleach in the water. It cheers me up in the winter to see the flowers.4

My local Aldi store hasn't had their Gold tea bags for well over a month now, which is strange as it's always been in stock before. They have plenty of their normal Diplomat red label ones, which I tried and they still taste strong enough for me so I might as well switch to them now and save.4
