Its a market leader, and considerably less expensive than JL. Let us know if you find it any good?A__L said:I purchased an Emma mattress from Lidl. Haven't unboxed it yetNo man is worth crawling on this earth.

But I suspect the packet of marzipan in Aldi is a better buy. I mean of course the marzipan that is meant to decorate a cake not go straight in the mouth..... and not much point in having a bb date of about a year hence: It probably won't even make the end of December.......YoungBlueEyes said:Marzipan logs are 2fer£2 in Lidl 😍 Just the normal ones, not that pineapple nonsense. They’ll only let you have 6 tho - any more than that is against their “bulk buying rules”, apparently 😒Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Oh aye! I’ll wander up to aldi tomorrow and get some (like I keep meaning to 😁

I absolutely love marzipan. I'm so tempted but will stick to the bar I already have (plus my cherry liqueurs) from Aldi. Any more and the calorie count will be astronomical! 🤣
I did see a block of morello cherry flavoured marzipan in Sainsburys (home baking) that's still calling to me. Hopefully they will have sold out. 😁
ETA - OMG! The Sainsburys marzipan is reduced! ☹️4 -

The lack of decent bread and bakery items is my main bugbear about Aldi - in this section I'd rate them by far the worst of all the supermarkets in the locality (Aldi, Lidl, Sainsbury's and Cp-op, with an occasional longer trip to an Asda)I'm surprised to hear this - our Aldi always has loads of different bread products available. And one of my staples is their malted bloomer loaf - no exaggeration, I reckon it's the nicest bread available. I choose it in preference to anything else, whether the big branded names or any other supermarket's own-brand.Wonder if it just depends where abouts in the country you are? Maybe some stores stock stuff that others don't?

You could of course see how good it tastes when it reaches / passes the best before date!!maman said:I absolutely love marzipan. I'm so tempted but will stick to the bar I already have (plus my cherry liqueurs) from Aldi. Any more and the calorie count will be astronomical! 🤣
I guess that might be a challenge, no, not to taste it but to keep it for that length of time......Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Morello cherry marzipan….. mmmmm Wonder if it’s as good as it sounds. Has anyone tried it? To just eat I mean (obvs) 😋"One has to free oneself from the illusion that international climate change policy is environmental policy. This is very nice bread, the slices are thick.Ebe_Scrooge said:p00hsticks said:Rosa_Damascena said:I bought a pack of 6 white rolls from Aldi yesterday - not my usual bread purchase but at 75% they work out to be 2p each. I also like the tiger bloomer from Iceland.
The Aldi oval seeded rolls are nice from Aldi too.
They used to do a 4 pack of malted rolls but I haven't seen these for a while.
I also buy their toastie loaf.1 -
Aldi used to have signs up around their stores saying maximum purchase of an item was six, never saw any signs in Lidl as a month or so ago I got 13 packets of 12 chipolata's reduced by 30% and they didn't question me on them.YoungBlueEyes said:Marzipan logs are 2fer£2 in Lidl 😍 Just the normal ones, not that pineapple nonsense. They’ll only let you have 6 tho - any more than that is against their “bulk buying rules”, apparently 😒Someone please tell me what money is2 -
The Lidl 6 items rule was originally for their weekend half-price offers. I'm not sure it applies/ever applied more generally than that.
Aldi are presently saying: maximum of 3 packs of Eggs per customer.2
