Two days, two second interviews!!
After the trouble I had finding work the last time I found myself unemployed, I'm amazed at the response I've had so far. Without sounding too smug, I genuinely will be suprised if I'm not taken on by somebody by the time I'm actually made redundant...
I've also decided to start my freelance work again, doing the odd bit of web design and IT repair/consultancy as this will give me a bit of a safety net if things do go sour and I end up without a regular wage for any length of time. It'll also give me the opportunity to play with another couple of business idea's I have and see how feasable they are!0 -

Thanks guys.
Sorry I've been absent for a few days. I've been busy building on my business idea! Not really a new idea, as I have offered freelance computer repair services in the past - I'm just starting to promote myself a bit and try and get a reasonably regular income out of it. I won't post a link to my new website (which is still a work in progress anyway), however I'm calling myself WireComputers...I'm sure if anybody wants to take a look, our good friend google will point them in the right direction.
Anyway, I've got my final interview tomorrow for one of the jobs I'm interested in, so everything is crossed that it goes well - They suggested that I should know by the end of the interview whether the job is mine or not...0 -
Hi marc. everything sounds great hope you hear today about the job. Keeping everything crossed for you ! Would the WireComputers be as well as a 'regular' job ? X ElNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Blimey, has it really been a week since I posted??
It's certainly been an eventful week, that's for sure....
Firstly, I heard that I was no longer in contention for the job I was being interviewed for last Monday
However, on the flip side, I'm not looking for a job anymore either!I'm staying where I am, as my current employers have asked me to stay on. It would seem that with all of the redundancies, they are now short staffed. :rotfl:
WireComputers is making good progress too. I will be operating it part time (at least to begin with) and I already have a sound business plan in place and some substantial advertising in the pipeline. Who know, if it all goes well I could go full time in the future.0 -
Time for a proper update, which is long overdue...
On the job front, I have an interview on Thursday for a position with Ebuyer, which is good money but also 80+ miles away from where I'm currently living, so would mean relocating - not a problem in itself, but I'll see how the interview goes before making any decisions.
As far as moneysaving goes, I've been very quiet on this front lately so apologies for that, things have been rather tense and stressful and I just haven't felt like sitting typing it all out everyday.Anyway, all of the news is positive and I'm feeling much calmer and happier now, especially after I saw my savings balance earlier today!!:D
Quidco - Tracked £136.10, Validated £60, Received £90, Paid £20 (£15 received in savings account).
Freefivers - Confirmed £29
Pigsback - Don't know, as it wont let me login
Savings Balance - £1099.48(made up of eBay earnings, Amazon, salary savings and £15 from Quidco)
So, all in all I'm a very happy bunny!!! :j0 -
I got on to Pigsback in the end, and the balance was 2164 piggy points!
The only problem is, there don't seem to be as many types of vouchers available now
And there are none which would be much use to me at the moment

Another day, another interview... :rotfl:
Today's was very much a long shot though, as it would mean relocating over 100 miles away - although the position would be a huge jump in terms of seniority and also salary. I should hopefully hear by the end of next week.
Aside from that, my current landlord has now been served with a months notice that I am leaving - so I'll either be relocating, or moving to a house on the other side of Warrington (which is being let by one of my current colleagues).0 -
Woohoo!!!
I got the job I was being interviewed for
It means relocating 100 miles away, and I'm yet to find somewhere to live, but it means an extra £4k per year...
Absolutely on cloud nine at the moment :beer:0
