Some firm plans at last, I've found myself an apartment!
It's in Hull, so will mean a commute each day (although only about the same as I am used to) but it's nice and modern and what's more, it's under budget at £450PCM.
I won't be able to move in until 25th, so I'll be living in the B&B for a few days, but I'm really excited now as I've got a new job and a new home sorted out all within a fortnight!!!
Now the packing really starts in earnst...lol0 -
Morning All,
Just a bit of a quick update - I'm now in Howden and loving my new job!!
I'm staying in a local B&B at the moment, as I can't move into my apartment until next tuesday, so I'm getting used to having a breakfast cooked for me each morning.
All being well I should be fully setup in the flat by the end of next week, with internet access, so I'll be able to post a bit more then..for now, it's back to the grindstore!0 -

Blimey, this time tomorrow I should be settling into my new place!
I'm back in Warrington at the moment, as I came back to spend Easter weeked with my family so I've got quite a commute in the morning.
I really need to get the last bit of packing sorted now, so I can get some sleep before my 6am start...But I'll check in again later with a bit more of an update (I want to get the car packed first, then I'll stop worrying so much).0 -
Right...I'm back.
In all honesty, I've not packed a single thing since I was last here, although I have had a nice relaxing bath and also sorted through some paperwork.
I had some good news today, a very generous aunty is giving me a decent sized TV (28") which will look a lot less silly than my little portable in a large lounge. This will save me forking out for one straight away.
I also paid a visit to Ikea today, and found some nice, budget furniture which I will be buying a bit at a time...to begin with I'll make do with my airbed and a beanbag as a chair!
So far as my finances go, they're looking very healthy at the moment, although only until tomorrow when I had over an obscene amount of money to my new landlord. I'm going to put together a new budget/SOA shortly and will post it once completed.
Okay, now I really need to get things done!! Somebody please lock my keyboard away until the car is loaded! :rotfl:0 -
The car is almost packed, all of the boxes apart from the food box are now in.
I'm going to put a to-do list together for tomorrow, so that when I'm sat in work and keep looking on here I'll be reminded of what I could be getting on with which is more productive...- Call BT, arrange for line to be disconnected and reconnected at new address.
- Call Sky, change address, arrange for broadband to be transferred to new line, arrange for TV installation.
- Write letter to Barclays to change address ('coz I always struggle with their call centre).
- Change address and telephone details with Fidelity.
- Change address and telephone details with Friends Provident.
- Call Lloyds TSB regarding contents insurance, change address.
- Change address details with eCar.
- Complete DVLA change of address forms.
- Write to BCS advising of change of address.
- Contact OU regarding change of address.
- [strike]Get to work, on time, after a near 100 mile commute![/strike]

Thanks El.
It's a skill I developed whilst at college, surviving 3 or 4 days on less than 5 hours sleep in total was the norm when coursework assignments were due in.
Not a great deal more has been sorted so far, as work is so manic today - this is the first chance I've had to pause all day...0 -
Hi All,
Apologies for the prolonged absence, I'm still living in the B&B and don't move into my new house until 30/04.
I'll try to post more of an update later today or at the weekend.0
