Morning!
Right, time for a bit more of an update.
Firstly, as I said above, I'm still living in the B&B at the moment.I've been let down by 2 Landlords now who have promised me properties and then messed me about . But things on the home front are looking up, as I've found a lovely little cottage in the village closest to where I work (5 min walk), which is well within my budget. The LL has agreed that I can have it, and I'm meeting up on Thursday to sign contracts and hand over a holding deposit. I can then move in on 30th when the decorating is complete.
In other news, I've booked 2 weeks off work at the end of September for my "trip of a lifetime" holiday to Canana, :jSo now I just need to get saving for it.
It's nice to be earning a decent wage, and to actually have some money in my pocked for a change. Unfortunately all budgeting and MSE'ing is out of the window at the moment, as I've got to pay B&B charges as well as eating out an insane number of times each week...so I'l be glad to get back to some sort of normality.
I'd better go and get some work done now , but I'll update again soon.0 -
Great to hear from you and that you have finally found somewhere to live!
Do keep posting as you are a real motivator.0 -
Progress!!
I'm in my new home at last...and it's great.
I've still got no furniture, as I can't have the van until next weekend, but on the plus side I have my phone line sorted after lots of screaming at BT and ultimately emailing the chairman. I also have a kettle and an airbed, so I'm set. :rotfl:

No net access at home yet, but I can get my daily fix of MSE from work.
Still waiting for Sky to get my broadband at home sorted...:rolleyes:0 -

It's Saturday afternoon, it's gloriously sunny outside and I'm sat in front of a computer in an office
However, I am being paid overtime rates for being here.
Anyway, I've got my furniture in at home now...it's finally starting to look lived in now and I'm getting settled in at last. Still no internet connection, although Sky have given me a free Sky+ box for the delay and inconvenience.
I've spent the past couple of weeks since moving in sorting my finances out, and even taking into account the much higher rent, I'm going to be quite a bit better off in this new job.
I've also done all of my "new house" shopping through Quidco, and currently have over £350 tracked, with a further £116 worth of transactions on enquiry.0 -
Looks like one of my Quidco transactions isn't going to be added, worth £60.
Still, I can't complain, assuming everything I'm waiting for at the moment pays out okay I'll have made over £800 out of Quidco since I joined this site.
I've decided that I'm going to try and get back into proper MSE habbits from now on, including daily clicks etc. and that anything earned from MSE activity will go into my "holiday" account. Only 4 months now until I go to Canada, and whilst I have nearly £250 tucked away for it, I hope to double that amount.
Time to update my sig I thinks.0
