This is why the Government are stepping in, due to the rogue practice of some PPCs and because the ‘appeals services’ must be independent in future.

This will change by next year but you MUST (please!) come back and make sure your voice is heard this Summer by taking part in the final Government Consultation when it is publicised.

The Consultation is ‘this Summer’ so come back and check here once a week, please, so your voice is one of the real members of the public who comment. You will be up against PPCs who will also comment, and in last year’s consultations they bombarded the responses with cut n paste spamming from the world and his wife, which was spotted to an extent but delayed and diverted the process.

Will do, my Partner owns the car and was not driving at the time (luckily) and the parking company will be persuing her.  I think this might be an advantage for us?

It gives her an extra defence point, if PPS didn’t use the POFA wording in their NTK, as explained in the first post of the NEWBIES thread where I link that really simple schedule for people to check.

Today we received the first letter from bwlegal. The fine has been bumped up to £160 already.

Just to check, keep ignoring these letters until they threaten with the court.

Is it a letter before/of claim or just debt collector nonsense, i.e. does it give you 14 days or 30 days to reply and does it contain financial forms that you do not fill in)?

What makes you call it a fine and of course they added the fake £60, the industry is still hoping to delude the Government with that false add-on.

Hi, it's giving us 14 days notice to pay.  Offering us the monthly payment plan etc. There is a form on the back to fill out if I wanted to pay.

Also states that if if we do not make payment or contact them with a valid reason for non payment. It may proceed to their legal process, which could be a Letter of Claim.

I assume its not worth bothering to contact to explain the non payment?

Obviously no contacting them.  You do NOT ring debt recovery thug firms about parking charges to ‘explain’.

Given you’ve taken time to read it, tells us you need to read more of the forum because no clued-up person gives such a letter the time of day.
