Re. OnTheBeach, it's quite refreshing to see a company face up to reality, and be responsible and not hold on to people's money for a holiday that probably won't happen. (And as previous posters say, much less stress for them too!)

    I agree.

They've had huge problems in the last months and have built a really bad name as a result of this. An admission that they have messed up and don't want to cause themselves further headaches is likely the right course of action for this particular company.

Any interests I personally have in this general area are operating on a very adaptive basis this year, and this is likely to exclude the UK market for this reason. There are more profitable avenues to pursue right now without the headaches of booking and refunding with a very small team. This position may change, but I doubt it will, as many suppliers also have a very small team.

It's a shame they didn't adopt such an enlightened Policy with regards to refunds last year. Indeed they even left ABTA to avoid having to follow it's diktat on reimbursing clients.
    Some people have short memories.

Yes, I had to check with my teen that she hadn't booked with On The Beach (she hadn't). I went from being stressed about whether her destination (Rhodes) turns Green to worrying she wasn't going to get anywhere - eeek lol.
Interestingly she also had a text from our Drs to book her first covid jab (she has no underlying health issues). Hadn't realised they'd got as far as eighteen year olds. She's putting it off until she finishes this half term at college though, just in case she has side effects that affect her going in.

Even the best contingency plans don't factor in global pandemics. If we were all born with hindsight nothing would ever be a problem.

True, but when faced with the situation that occurred some acted more honourably than others.
On the Beach were amongst the worst as testament on here revealed, along with LM.com , Love Holidays and a few other delinquents.
