Does that include 0870 numbers and 0845 with 1899 don't you pay rental with 1899 aswell and are they the cheapest predial company?

And if I rang a mobile would that be 3p per minute too?

Check out this thread here about signing up for 1899/18866/18185. There is no rental for any of these companies, you just pay for what you use. All of them have a price list when using with cable networks which can be slightly different than the home page which shows the prices for usage with BT.

The cost is 0p per minute with a 3p connection charge for geographical numbers or 01/02 numbers in other words 3p per call no matter the duration. When dialing a mobile it is 10p per minute plus the 3p connection charge during the week and 3p per minute plus 3p connection charge at w/ends.

Thanx I'll check them all out. But its a bit confusing which is best when I'm on NTL if they don't actually list the prices only for BT.

Anyone else on NTL using any of 1899/18866/18185 ?
    Thanx

  • They do all list the prices for NTL, usually down the side it says click here for prices using cable icon7.gif

this should be the direct link for the prices using cable

I signed up with 1189 after looking through the prices I decided they were more suited to me.

They accepted my application straight away for my landline phone. I was surprised after reading on here that some people have had problems registering so had to register a mobile phone first to get on.

As I'm on NTL 3-2-1 do I pay a 5p connection charge even after 6pm and weekends? coz if so I'm better off using the 1189 even at night and weekends arent I? even though its only a 2p saving each time its something and will add up over the month. If I don't pay the 5p connection charge after 6pm and weekends I'll just phone direct, does anyone know which is which and also if the 5p connection applies to 0800 freephone numbers too?

I havent used it yet, I'll just stick the number on the phone so people will remember to use it and have it at hand everytime

    Thanx everyone

I called NTL and they said you pay the 5p connection charge all the time even on the free ones to local other NTL users after 6pm and all weekend so I'll be using the 1189
    Thanx

But they've been advertising their "3 for £30" package of BB, TV and phone for ages. You're still paying more than that (£35.24 to be exact).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
  • Could be that it is extra for more tv channels, is the £30 all three not just basic channels?

Normally the 3 for £30 is just the basic channels. Normally premium channels (movies/sports) cost extra which is generally over £10 (not sure of exact figure) just for either the movies or sports. Both movies and sports costs over £20 I think.
